Not really used to getting told I'm pretty...

A couple days ago I set up an account on an online dating site that was recommended to me by a friend (>.> don't judge...). I'm really surprised at the number of responses I've gotten, but I'm even more surprised that the first thing most of the people who've contacted me have told me is that they think I'm really pretty.
If you've seen the pictures that I put up in the picture thread, know two things about them. One, all but one of those pictures is over four years old. Two, I tried to purposefully make myself look nice for those pictures. They were my senior pics from high school.
In contrast, this is the photo of myself I used for my profile picture on that site (I'm the one on the left wearing glasses):
I mean...it's not exactly centerfold material. I'm wearing a rather unflattering jacket and jeans, for crying out loud. I'm in my glasses and my hair's pulled back into a ponytail that looks like it's coming out.
Still, out of the four or five guys who have contacted me over the past two days, all of them made a point to comment on the fact that I was really pretty. Perhaps just a way to flatter me so they can attempt a hookup? A sincere compliment? Who knows. All I know is I'm REALLY not used to getting complimented on my looks. It feels quite strange to suddenly get such a barrage of comments on them, especially for such an average-looking picture (I don't have any other on my profile at the moment).
