Yeah, this seems like a good way to procrastinate. I don't think I'll be able to finish all the types before I get lazy and conveniently forget about blogs, but since I'm in the mood, I thought I'd give one a shot.

Yeah, that’s right. This is my favorite bug type.
I love this little guy, I really do. But god damn, he’s completely useless. Even using him in-game is a real test of patience, and sadly one that I have failed a number of times.
But like many a neglected ‘mon, what he lacks in…well, pretty much anything remotely redeeming, he makes up for in style. The first bug pokemon I feel was successful at looking both adorable and simultaneously badass. Looking like a power ranger and a wall-crawler toy is a big part of what makes this guy so rad. And, uh, red.
Despite piss-poor attack, I think it’s really cool that he can put those fists of his to good use and is capable of using several punching attacks. Taking advantage of an insect’s multiple limbs is something I’m surprised hasn’t been looked in to all that much when it comes to pokemon moves, so it’s weird to think he’s one of the few to do so.

MOTHIM

Y'know, every time a new gens list of pokemon is revealed, I always dread a moth cropping up. I remember my face sinking when I saw this guy.
Admitedly there are aspects of Mothim I am fond of. It’s sideways-beak of a mouth is a unique feature, and one I’ve always found pretty interesting. Aditionally, the gender-based metamorphosis of the bagworm is a concept I’ve always wanted to see explored further in pokemon, because Forretress sure as hell didn’t cut the mustard.
Unfortunately, he really is just another forgettable moth based pokemon. He’s not bright of quirky looking like Dustox, and he doesn’t have the nostalgic charm of Venomoth. This guy is just there, so Wormadam can have someone to hang up a ‘his’ towel next to the ‘hers’ one in the bathroom.
