Voting and me

For those who don't know it, Australia's got an election day today, for the prime minister of Australia.
But that's not the actual purpose of this blog, I just wanted to blog that for some reason, I tend to be in a good mood on election days, especially if it's a beautiful and sunny day like this. It's hard to explain, many people hate election days and find it a bore, and I am not even that interested in politics.
Well sort of, for me I am in between, I don't care too much that I am obsessed with it, like some people I know, but at the same time I enjoy voting, I guess because it can make a difference, okay if the guy I vote for ends up being even worse (Kevin Rudd for instance) then yes, that was a bad vote, but aleast I know I tried to vote in hopes he would change some things, like gay marriage. And if the guy I didn't vote for, ends up winning and being horrible (Tony Abbot, everytime he is in the running to be a PM, everyone says Australia is screwed if he gets in), well then aleast I know I didn't vote for him.
But what annoys me, are those people who would carelessly walk into a voting booth and just tick whatever, because they have the mindset that it is nothing, it seems very careless for that, I get people don't like voting and in Australia, you are forced to vote, but aleast try to do a little study and actually vote, if the wrong guy gets voted, we know who to blame for that, aleast I know if I did vote for the wrong guy, I aleast put some thought into it and just didn't do it because I am forced to.
So yeah, election day kinda has a weird effect on me, that you wouldn't otherwise expect really.
Edit: Does this go against the rules btw? Just realized it may be bordering on it?
