Yeah, since I haven't posted anything about it, last week my dog had to be put down, he died of old age and it was very devasting, still tearing up everytime I think about him, I hadn't seen him in months because I don't live at home anymore.. And I never will again, I never got a chance to say goodbye to even see him before then.
And according to my Mum's text, his ashes have arrived today and from what I see in the picture, sitting up on a small ledge in the living room (He was a small dog).
Oh, if some didn't realize, or I don't know how long this has existed, but yes they cerement (Is that how you spell it?) dogs now, we found this out a few years ago when our other dog died of old age (Who's ashes are buried out in the back).
It made me think though, I have had two other dogs long ago who died of old age, but they were never put into an ash box. I don't even know where they are buried, okay I don't know exactly where my granddad buried either but aleast I know he has a grave. I know where my birds are buried because.,.. Well for some reason you bury them in the backyard, not take them to a vet (Word of warning if anyone ever meets me in real life and I have a dead bird. Don't ever suggest throwing him in a trash or flushing him into the toilet, never happened but I would not take that kindly).
But... Where are dogs and cats buried in? Is there a pet cemetery? (Is it also where Horses, farm animals that were never turned into food, or any big animal that isn't a bird or reptile are buried?). I have always wondered this but guess was a little afraid of the answer, never found out where the other two were buried, probably the only two animals I ever had and can't exactly pinpoint where they are buried.
(I can pinpoint the others, most of our fishes down the toilet except one I really liked. Two of our dogs sitting in an ash box, one buried and another I assume in the living room. Most of my birds are in the backyard, or for one buried in a plant pot, sadly four of my Cockatiels were eaten by a snake.. So was never a body for them).
So.. Where would dogs and cats go when they die of old age? (After the vet puts them down of course).
