And I got a story in mind, but it's sort of two different ones at the same time, yet about the same topic.
I want to try and touch suicide, seeing how it has affected people, both the victim and their friends/family. One storyline would be based on a character from my story that is about 10k pages long, who after a number of years kills herself, while not all the characters knew she would pull a gun to her death, it was obvious she was feeling so much pain and hurt.
But there's another one, I was thinking of writing in an loving family, a wife who has the family dream, and has a big family and a church family as well, along with neighbors who consider her a friend, (I know it sounds Mary Sue, but there's a point to it), however out of the blue she kills herself, sending a peaceful town in disarray as people start blaming themselves and each other and the family is in turmoil trying to figure out why she did it.
My question is, what would be worse and more of getting to the point of the story? (Which is highlighting how one killing themselves can affect those around them). Knowing someone is going through a depressing time in their life, even the readers will know why she kills herself (Will be in the story).
Or thinking someone is happy and joyful, only for them to kill themselves and not knowing why, not having the answer of why she did it (Which might be in the end).
What do you guys think be a better idea? Both parts will have a little while before they kill themselves, but it will get to that point. Both will have the same point as well, showing the pain and darkness that the victim leaves behind, the shattered lives afterwards.
