Pokemon - Sandshrew, Eevee, Taillow, ???
A student at Rukh's University and friend of Fritz Westmyn. His goal in life is to be a Pokemon Coordinator, though his total lack of charm, charisma, and confidence are major deterants to his dream. Regardless, he certainly has their style of dress down. Besides his clothing with fanciful Pokemon designs, he often wears a black and primarily teal jacket - which he has a habit of recoiling into when frightened. He idolizes Maribel Capdevila, due to how she was able to follow her dream and become a coordinator.
Thatcher and Reika were apparently childhood friends, but the extent of this is unclear at this point. Both also have a history with one Josef Northrop, who appears to have bullied them. Thatcher holds a strong admiration towards Fritz that is only matched by his admiration towards Maribel, a stark contrast to their female friend. He has never had anyone in his life who he could really look up to before, according to his father, and Fritz fulfilled that role before his expulsion.
Thatcher apparently suffered from an illness as a child, that disrupted his ability to go on a journey with Reika. The details of it are unknown, and it's implied it's a sensitive subject for him.
Pokemon - Wigglytuff, Eevee, Marill, ???
A student at Rukh's University. Her meeting with Fritz is incidental, although the two become friends.in short order. A chubby girl (described as Fritz as "not fat or curvy"), her spiteful and impulsively temperamental personality can be a bit of a load to bear at times. Even Fritz is no exception, although she eventually made it clear she truly appreciates his friendship. Reika's birthday is April 16th, and she is presently eighteen.
Fritz recognized her last name; he didn't say from where specifically, and passed it off as coincidence. Josef's nickname for her (Freak-Eye) comes from her hazel-colored eyes with a green luster in the light. She broke her right leg after a nasty fall during confrontation against The Beast of Abet. Though she's gotten used to it as of late, it still is a problem when it comes to stairs or long distances. According to Josef, she has trouble holding on to friends due to having a habit of pissing them off. Fritz was an exception and the opposite case, as her extreme xenophobia caused her to completely flip out on him when Aiden Kripps revealed his country of origin.
Her mother is Akemi Easton, a high-ranking member at Devon Industries Inc. Her career took her to Saffron City in Japan to compete with The Silph Company. This, and Thatcher's illness foiled Reika's plans to go on a journey. Reika hopes to meet her father someday, who left when she was young. She isn't very good at Pokemon, to put it simply, getting easily frustrated and seemingly giving orders at random. Perhaps more than anyone, she needs the education.
Pokemon - ???
Teikō's girlfriend. Fritz met both in Sciences early before school reopened following the fire; they apparently went home while the school was closed and just made it back in time. Seems to be level-headed. Teiko is looking to be a professional battler when she gets older - maybe even a Gym Leader - and specializes in the Fairy type.
Much like Thatcher, Teiko holds Fritz in a high regard. She has mentioned she wishes she could be in Tactics Class much like he is. A generally friendly and casual person, showed by her once trying to get the five friends together to all hang out together one weekend.
Pokemon - ???
Teiko's boyfriend. The more excitable of the two. Fritz finds the fact that they're a couple with similar names quite amusing. An aspiring artist. His favorite thing to draw are Pokemon trainers in action, preferring them to the likes of Coordinators due to being able to exercise his creativity by taking artistic liberties. Graham Fragarach is from the same town as them.
Teikō is enthusiastic, but can be ignorant at times.
Premala Amani Yuhawlah:
Pokemon - Spoink, Leafeon, Tropius, at least three others
A mysterious girl who is the head of Rukh's Activism Club and a member of the Kyuokaisa. A second year student, she is one of the school's most beautiful (if eccentric) individuals - physical and psychological traits both considered. She has a form of mental abilities, of which speaking into the mind appears to be one. Dresses in a two-piece violet robe, has green eyes, and oddly, dyes her hair green as well.
Certainly possesses some level of pull at the school, but seems unassociated with the principal or vice principal. The Activism Club's building is where she lives - Fritz speculates she may have even had it built.
Premala has a romantic interest in Fritz (who she always addresses by his given name, Frisco), making absolutely no attempt to conceal it, but he is unsure about her motivations. Fritz knows her heart and love are true, but even having accepted her, still has some suspicion about her. Her mother is apparently less than optimistic about this. However, any chance to see the natural results of where it would go disappeared with Fritz' expulsion. Premala tried her best to keep him there, but was shot down by Kripps.
Pokemon - Cradily, Gyarados, Skuntank, Three Others
A fourth-year student at Rukh's University (his final year). Described as its "crown jewel" by the staff, he is by far the best battler in the school. Despite being a bit of a jerk at times, he is loved and well-respected by his peers. He normally has a jock-like yet understanding personality, sort of the role model and older-brother-to-all type, but he does have a temper inside him (occasionally a really nasty one). Although his core group of friends stick up for him in less-than-desirable ways, he rarely speaks out against them. He looks out for his own wherever possible. By contrast, he is against other wrongdoings. Aporon has a measure of pull at the school, even able to get the Tactics Tournament's format changed to suit his own agenda.
Aporon follows what he calls the four Ps, a philosophy of what it takes to succeed in life and as a Pokemon trainer. They are prudence, passion, planning, and perspiration. He has a strict outlook on what defines an incredible trainer, and attempts to spread it to others. In particular, he isn't much of a risk-taker.
Fritz and Aporon had a rivalry with one another, with elements of strained respect, though both recognized each other's ability. Aporon specifically chose Fritz for the tournament to ensure his victory, and even invited him to a group of the school's best to be known as the Four Forces. He did not have a problem when he learned Fritz is from North America, but felt helpless to do anything about his expulsion and simply accepted defeat.
He often wears a jacket sporting the school's insignia (a stylized bird) and colors (red and silver). Aporon is around 5'7'' and has kempt brown hair, sideburns, and tiny beard.
Pokemon - Poliwrath, Venonat, Others?
One of Aporon's circle of friends and the older full-brother of Edgar by just under a year. On his third year at Rukh's University, David is a self-superior and dignified preppy type in both dress and personality. Suits are a common clothing choice for him in-class, and trendy clothing otherwise. David is haughty, but cordial and fair with a high sense of pride and honor. He has his own way of showing respect to those he considers on his level.
Between the three of them, David is regarded as the best of Aporon's group, and some say he's quite close in style to him. While not entirely untrue due to his being trained by him, they have some subtle differences, particularly in how David prefers to prepare specifically for situations rather than relying on any one consistancy. One of his stronger Pokemon is his Venonat, him having realizing there is an advantage to not evolving it. He has very little interest in the sciences and such.
Pokemon - Primeape, Others?
Formerly in Aporon's circle of friends. The only things he has in common with his brother David are their parents and how they are both third-year. This 6-foot giant - for Japan, anyway - is anything but gentle. Edgar is rude, aggressive, and has a VERY short temper. He's as aggressive and demanding as he is on the battlefield as he is off of it. But in both instances, recklessness is usually what gets him into trouble. He enjoys fast food, action movies, has a casual dress of white shirt and jeans, and rarely showers. Amusingly, he has a surprising level of penmanship as well - despite his dyslexia. He often gives people slur-based nicknames.
Edgar supported and defended Aporon far more than David or Lawrence. However, it is exactly because of this that they had a falling out after he pushed Phoebe Palmoni way too far in his fervor. They may not have thought much of him to begin with, as suggested by their laughing and/or apathy towards his prior misfortune. In-battle, Edgar fittingly uses a furious power-based style, although does balance it out with tricks.
Pokemon - Venusaur (Venu), Others?
The last of Aporon's circle of friends. A lecherous nerd who, much like Fritz, was a first-year student transfered to the Tactics class due to his talent. Presently a second-year. He's extremely short (4'11''), has bad acne, and has thick glasses. Ironically, he may or may not be closeted, despite his womanizing nature. He's a very hard person to get a read on.
He seems to be the most disjointed of Aporon's group, but gets along with them quite well. He seems to have a knack for getting things done, as proven by when he's able to procure information on Fritz' upcoming opponent.
Pokemon - Hariyama, Meganium, Others?
A fourth-year student at Rukh's University. Fritz saw her Hariyama battling an Ursaring when he was transferred to the Tactics class, where it threw its weight around to earn a victory by opponent submission. While a talented battler as a result, her harsh style and nasty attitude has garnered her a negative reputation. Even her sister can't deny it, though doesn't judge her for it. The second-best battler at Rukh's after Aporon, and on each others' bad sides.
Her two representatives in the tournament were the obidient Varick McGrody and Korum Anaberal, who was the one who approached her. Only the latter remains, who shares her outlook of doing whatever it takes to ensure Aporon's loss, and therefore their victory in the tournament. She has a peculiar sense of justice.
Muriel is quite tall, has black hair styled into a bobcut with white streaks, and cold, verdant eyes. She often dresses like a punk or a goth.
Pokemon - Floatzel, Skorupi, Sunflora, Incendooh
Muriel's sister, and Aporon's second choice for mentorship during the tournament (solely as a slight to his rival). Although their treatment of Fritz is more a receipt for his disrespect, they treat Phoebe even worse and with seemingly geniune contempt. Edgar eventually pushed her over the edge, leading to his banishment from their circle. She was revealed to have feelings for Fritz. When battling him for position of sole representative of Aporon as a consequence of the tournament being adjusted, she barely had her heart into it.
Phoebe is around 5'1'', has a different dress to, and a much kinder disposition than her sister, but the resemblance is clear enough. Though implied the siblings have a good relationship (at least from Phoebe's end), their similarities end with appearances. Phoebe is kinder and more caring than her sister, but is less tenacious and self-reliant. Not necessarily a pessimist, but if not that, certainly a realist.
Pokemon - Glaceon, Froslass, Torterra, two others
A cold-hearted transfer-student and associate of Cronus Aporon, and apparently the best battler of the third-year students (despite not battling much). Nicknamed "The Ice Princess" for both her ruthless nature and choice of Pokemon, she was trained by the late Lorelei of the Kanto Elite Four on the Orange Islands. Some say she has the potential to be as masterful at the Ice type as her mentor. Many students fear her, although she is respected enough to be relied upon sometimes.
There was an incident that caused Elyna to transfer from her old school, Celadon Academy, but the details of this are at-present known only to her and Premala. Furious at him for what she felt were insults against her, Elyna challenged Fritz to a battle, with Aporon using it to teach him a lesson. However, the crafty trainer went in hard, and actually managed to defeat her. Suffering this loss completely broke her.
She is a cameo character, played by AiedailEclipsed.
Ina Rose Nanaba:
Pokemon - Bellossom (Reedy), Glaceon (Snowy)
A ditzy, enthusiastic, bubbly girl who is generally pleasant to people. A former friend of Reika Easton's, although the details of their falling out - let alone how they could've been friends at any point - are uncertain. Ina doesn't seem to harbor any resentment, but the same can't be said about Reika. Tends to use a lot of cutesy terms and gives similar nicknames to people; also giving the latter to her Pokemon.
She is surprisingly resourceful in battle for a relative beginner. She frequently teaches her Pokemon TMs and knows/understands a few advanced techniques. However, she isn't aware of some intricacies or basic concepts, leading to a few awkward moments.
Pokemon - ???
A trendy blonde-haired girl with sapphire-hued eyes and shoulder-length bangs, she is an aspiring coordinator. A fan of Augustus Gabriel; attempted to get a ticket off Thatcher to the Big Contest where he would be participating. While usually passive and polite, she has a short-temper towards some, acting with self-superiority and constant criticism.
Formerly Reika's roommate, by virtue of the room number (168) being her lucky number. After disagreements between them, she put a plot in motion for the theft of an expensive collector's bust in their room. Fritz managed to prove his friend taking it as impossible; Liane left in disappointment with Cinque, and returned spouting a refined rant, indirectly revealing her plan and how it backfired when someone really stole it. Sometime after that, she got a room change.
Pokemon - ???
A first-year student. Girlfriend of Andrew. Tomboyish in dress and demeanor, but quite quiet otherwise. May not get out in the sun very much. Knows quite a bit about coordinating...but exhibits a strange lack of confidence at times.
Her goal in life, brought on by an attack (specifically, a mass Pokemon theft) on Mandarin Island and hearing the words of Theodore Louis is to become a member of the police force. She feels she can't fit by and idly watch while 'dangerous people' make people's lives hell, she wants to be able to help them herself.
Pokemon - Lapras, ???
A first-year student who is a friend of Carlie and Andew, as well as Liane Weiks. With light blonde hair cut short and aqua blue eyes, she often dresses in revealing attire. Irene is quite nasty towards those she dislikes, but feels a little more normal when not in one of their presence.
Born in the Orange Islands though living in Olivine City for a portion of her life, Irene is the cousin of coordinator Celeste Faris, and holds great respect for Elyna Dragomir. The latter coached her to her defeat Ina (being aided by Fritz) in a battle, brought on by the ditzy girl defending her former friend. Was also part of the group accusing Reika of the theft of the bust, where she repeatedly referred to her as a "fat broad". May stem from Reika believing her mother Audrey (on the staff) to be promiscuous, a fact that isn't necessarily untrue.
Pokemon - ???
A first-year student. Boyfriend of Carlie. This ginger dresses in pure white in contrast to Carlie's darker colors. Seems to be more of a follower, and may be slightly fearful of Fritz.
Andrew is cautious to a fault. It's strongly implied he used to be a very different person, up to the incident on the island around a year before the fic started. The aftermath affected everyone in Satsuma City, and in his case left him uncertain of what he wishes to do in the future.
Pokemon: Darks and Ghosts, mainly
A leery individual, the bigshot-looking Korum Anaberal dresses in high-class clothing and has well-groomed blonde hair. Korum is exceptional at analyzing his opponents, and getting into people's minds. Is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve victory in battle. Many of peers dislike him, due to his creepiness and willingful association with Muriel Palmoni.
A hypoglycmic young man with a taste for cookies and a strong connection to his Pokemon. Markus is calm, friendly, positive, and surprisingly casual at times. He always looks forward to a good challenge, and is looking forward to meeting Fritz in the tournament - thinking of it as a thrilling ride. Occasionally forgets who people are.
He is a cameo character, played by Flaze
