Even sleeping at a reasonable hour makes me wake up only six hours later. What is going on? And no, four hours of being up after that isn't enough to convince my body to go back to sleep. Fuck this body.
Why not set an alarm for when you want to wake up, even if you wake up, just go back to sleep. Keep doing that.

Might take a while, but this works for me. I've had the same problems as you. ><
You have to stay up 'til about 8, even if you're knackered. I always find out that if I go to bed any sooner I never get a full nights sleep without getting up for a while between.
Either that or just embrace the fact that you can sleep for 6 hours. It is a popular misconception that everyone needs 8 hours sleep. In fact, it's been proven that closer to 7 hours is a more effective amount of time to be asleep but even that is just a generalisation. Depending on the kind of person you are, the shifts you work or your daily activities, a persons optimum amount of sleep could be anything from 5 hours to 8. The fact that you seem to fixate on it a lot will not be helping either. Believe me, I know. Judging by the fact that you never reply to anyones helpful comments on your sleep-related blogs suggests to me that you don't believe anyone can have as fucked up a sleeping pattern as you. (I apologise if that is wildly off the mark - it's just the impression I get) However, there are a lot of people out there who have had extremely messed up sleeping patterns for years (myself included) and a lot of people who are lucky if they sleep at all.
So, listen to what they say :) and in the meantime, embrace the fact that you can sleep for 6 hours. It's enough.
You seem to have lots of problems with sleep. You're an insomniac, it's common. You should seek help from a sleep therapist, having erratic sleeping patterns for as long as you have had wont be good for you.
