The Live Wire

The Live Wire is a fast-paced, action-filled blog filled with the collection of a now fairly known user's thoughts on events as they happen. The updates were intended to be short and sweet, though that was never really adhered to on a consistent basis. The content covered ranges wildly, from the latest and greatest to the criminally unknown, from opinions some may find disagreeable to irresistibility of varying qualifications. You may be entertained. You may be offended. You may be enlightened. You may even be disgusted. Is it a simple idea spiraled out of control? Perhaps. But it's all part of the ride. Prepare yourself.

  1. In space, _NO ONE_ can hear you scream.

Well, I guess it's better than the time thousands were on. Still surprised me a little when I saw it, though. It was like, "is this some kind of glitch, or did everyone just die?"

By the way, last night's commercial-free RAW scored a 4.5 television rating. But Jon & Kate Plus 8's special divorce announcement murdered them with over 10.6 million viewers compared to RAW's 7.3 million viewers. It doesn't surprise ...
  2. That stupid add a tag to an entry you didn't make feature needs to be killed already.

by , 23rd June 2009 at 04:42 PM (The Live Wire)
UPDATE: It has. I guess it's true what they say - unless you speak up about what's wrong, people won't know what's wrong. No longer will such erroneous claims plague the global tag cloud (or invade your very own)! Better than my crazy solution! Thanks, whoever did that! The original text in this entry follows...

This is getting out of hand. There's no reason why a user should be able to add a tag to a blog they do not own. Period. Somehow, there's even less of a reason in not being ...

  3. What the fuck. Is WWE _trying_ to destroy themselves?

by , 22nd June 2009 at 08:13 PM (The Live Wire)
Today, RAW is airing live, and commercial free. So that's already a lot of money lost in commercials. But okay, that's not so bad, and it's a good way to earn viewers. And yet, now, they go and say that everyone in the audience is getting refunds at the end of the show. It totals to around $270,000.

Add that in to WWE stock losing value after their alleged sale to Donald Trump, and you've got one suicidal company.

They've said Vince has been going pretty crazy backstage ...
  4. Looks like I got my wish (even for just one day so far)

by , 22nd June 2009 at 04:40 AM (The Live Wire)
It rained today, so it wasn't as hot as it was yesterday. Or to be more specific, yesterday and the day before respectively, but it's still raining now. Which is nice.

I'm just more used to cooler temperatures. Comparatively, some of the people I know wore jackets today. I mean come on - it was in the high teens (C)! That's not sweater weather by any means!
  5. Why are people obsessed with name changes?

by , 22nd June 2009 at 12:40 AM (The Live Wire)
I never really got that. I've even seen at least one board (I forgot which) where quite a few people whined over the restrictions on username changing.

But personally? I'd prefer everlasting recognizability over messing around with my username every few months and forcing anyone who doesn't keep up with me regularly to adjust to the new name. Same goes for avatars, to a lesser extent (pretty pictures are always eye-catching).

Or in other words, I will always be "System ...
