I, System Error, would like to remind you that emulators are not the same as ROMs

Dear Citizens of the Bulb,
This is an important reminder!
There is a clear cut difference between emulators and ROMs. Sure, even emulation sites flip their lid over ROMs, so it is justified to disallow discussion about them, but emulators are not quite the same. Thus, if I wish to discuss the ramifications from a purely technical and observational standpoint of one console, say, the PS3, being able to emulate another through use of porting something from the PC, say, the Gamecube or Nintendo Wii, I should be able to do so, and it will not cause Nintendo to freak the fuck out on us.
It's all about context and whatnot, but not to say we should be too open about this sort of thing. I would also like to point out that if discussion of emulation is indeed disallowed, it should be made specifically clear in the rules, due to most sites allowing discussion about emulation and not about ROMs.
Reminders serve to point out things you may have forgotten, are confused over, misunderstood, or misinterpreted.
All the best,
System Error
