So apparantly, WWE: Legends of Wrestlemania came out today. So they advertise the everloving shit out of John Cena's new movie, and yet, their new game is completely ignored? Huh? Last time I checked, WWE films wasn't exactly the best at making good movie...Stone Cold Steve Austin's movie in particular lost over 14 million at the box office. The Marine, Cena's first movie, lost only 1 million. Kane's movie earned around 10 million, but that was only because it was a low budget film - critics still think it was shit. The funniest was Mr. Kennedy's movie: they advertised it for weeks, and even had him show up to promote it, but as soon as the reviews came in, they dropped it completely.
The only good movies they made they only have a co-role in producing - and all of which involved The "Dwayne Johnson" Rock. Incidently, he hasn't been in a noteworthy movie in a few years. Coincidence? Yeah, I'd say so.
But back to Legends of Wrestlemania. I played the demo, and tried to rewrite history by beating Hulk Hogan as Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania III. I got my ass handed to me. Now, I am hoping for revenge! It actually looks like an interesting game - kind of reminds me of Wrestlemania Arcade, though not as over the top or fast paced. Or with crazy commentary. Okay, the resemblance is minimal. >_> But hey, it's still fun. Now the only problem is making some good Create-A-Wrestlers (CAWs). See, there's an option to import creations from Smackdown VS. RAW 2009, as well as the entire roster (taking Randy Orton through Legend Killer mode, anyone?).
However, a problem with SvR2009's character system is that you need to take your CAWs through career mode to build them up, and homing their stats to perfection (from a realistic standpoint) is somewhat tedious. They made it slightly easier with the latest patch that lets you accept or reject abilities you earn, but it's still kind of ridiculous.
Right now, I'm working on a Rob Van Dam CAW. He and Macho Man Randy Savage are the main two that I want (even though I could always make them from LoW; I don't know how the stat system works there yet). Why the fuck did they leave out the latter, anyway? Word is, Vince McMahon hates Savage for some unspecified reason. Lately, he's started to show up more (they've been mentioning him on television and are even releasing a DVD), but leaving him out of Legends of Wrestlemania is just unacceptable, considering he is a legend of Wrestlemania. His match with Ricky Steamboat at Wrestlemania III is generally agreed to be one of the best matches in the history of WWE/WWF.
But Wednesday has to come, first! Must go faster must go faster must go faster
