How I think a RuSa remake should work

Ever consider a time-skip between beating the game once and then starting the post-game?
Hoenn doesn't offer much in the post game. FRLG helped rectify this some with the Sevii Islands; Kanto /was/ the post game in GSC/HGSS, Sinnoh's neighboring landmass was then available to explore, and BW had whole routes to explore.
Unless something like the Sevii Islands is introduced, or the region itself is unexplainably expanded...or the whole continent actually suffers a radical land/water redistribution as caused by Kyogre/Groudon's fighting... Well, actually that last one would be amazing. And still goes well with a time-skip.
Okay, either way, say the player beats Steven, gets to be champion, yaddayadda, then retires from training (which may trigger Steven to, too), but sees on the TV some months later that a mysterious pogey has been sighted (a Lati@s) and gets inspired to travel again, and since it was a while, whatever areas that were affected by Groudon raising land or Kyogre raising sea levels (whatever, science) are now repopulated and settled by people and/or pokémon. In the same time-span, Wallace succeeds Steven as Champion, Juan replaces Wallace as GL, and Juan can be battled as a courtesy to Wallace because hey, it's the child that saved the world.
So you have RuSa as the pregame, Em as the post-game, and some mix in between for the story.
And whichever Team you didn't defeat in the pregame, you defeat in the post-game, because reasons idk.
