This is only theories, as I haven't downloaded it, but: 1) Check to see if the Advance Shop (that is a thing, right?) is there. If it is, you should be able to get the Advance Ring. If not, you shouldn't. (Not that it matters much ((see TV Tropes article: And Your Reward Is Clothes (((or something like that)))))) 2) *shrug* 3) I believe you unlock it via password, so I'd assume so, unless they changed the passwords (which would be ridiculous).

Sometime, you should invest in a smart phone or another device with 3G access. There's a charge to your phone bill, but you can get Internet access almost anywhere and don't have to worry about shelling out $8-12 a day just to use wifi at a hotel.

If you count HeartGold and SoulSilver as going back to Kanto, then yes, they did. But I see the idea of a FR/LG remake as unlikely as a Kuriboh destroying a monster to win the Duel. (Which is to say it's extremely unlikely. While if someone DID do the Kuriboh thing, I'd stare at them in awe, I'd just look sadly at Game Freak.)

I don't know if you have them but the other generation III spin offs I can think of are R&S Pinball, Channel and Super Smash Bros. Melee.
