I already knew about the game-o'-origin byte thing. Thanks for the bit about Amie, that one I hadn't heard yet.
- How well does AZ's Floette operate in battle and Amie? Are its animations fully functional or glitchy?
I expect that it will eventually be an event distribution and will work fine.
- Can battle-only forms (Megas, Castform, Cherrim, whatever else) be hacked into the party/box out-of-battle? (Smealum got the Mega Latis to show up in the wild, so it's at least party possible...) How do they operate in Amie?
Pretty sure Smealum said Mega Latis crashed Amie.
- Full list of locations? (Pokebanku's efforts turned up the alternate route names as possible "obtained/met" locations though normally "Route ##" will be what's listed, but sadly he seems to have stopped operating.)
This is entirely possible to do, after we get access to Transporter. It is possible now, but far too few people have Transporter and not enough people care.
Essentially, if a Pokemon in Gen V has its game of origin set to X or Y (or one of the indicies after that, but let's ignore those for now to keep it simple), when traded to X or Y it will show up as the equivalent XY met location.
The location subtitles just correspond to the odd index numbers. So 00074 is "Route 15" while 00075 is "Brun Way". For locations without subtitles, this is blank.
For index numbers for conversion: List of locations by index number (Generation V) - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia List of locations by index number (Generation VI) - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia
What I consider realistic isn't so much as gritty as it is just putting like, common logic into things, even if the common logic shouldn't be needed, kind of what you said. I don't like super dark things at all, heck real life aint super dark, it's just, not always action-packed and could get boring depending how you go about it. :U

Why not meet with the extremes and have a shoujo-esque high school romance where people kill for no reason other than to create a horrifically dreary story? Nothing says 'romance' quite like a lack of Pokemon and blood everywhere.
People seems to think mature means gore and blood.
Then there's the opposite but equally asinine approach of writing "Mature/Realistic" fics by turning Pokemon into sappy, cliche'd shoujo-esque "romantic" drivel, with the titular critters all but absent. Those fics almost make the 3edgy5u stories seem good.
I'm perfectly happy with my Pokemon Games, Anime, and various Manga the way they are :I
Personally, I'd love it if the series became really dark. It would add more depth to what many consider a children's game.
Allow me to direct you to this article for a possible explanation.
Maybe they were once offended by the Striaton Trio and decided to become a better starter type triad than them in their distressed revenge? I don't read PokeSpe, so I wouldn't know
I'm glad they weren't the same people in PokeSpe. As much as I like the Shadow Triad = Striaton Triplets theory, the manga layed it on way too thick.
you must have scared it.
