I dont see whats wrong with using your game. Yes, battle simulators are convenient for testing things out but then that doesnt mean you cant create the team on your cartridge. If you want to test a team use a simulator but if you have/find a working team you can then put it together on your game. Id rather use my game IMO. It doesnt have to be just one or the other. Both can be used together and I dont see the problem with that at all.

There's a sense of achievement and pride when you use the 6 Pokemon you trained to win a battle. Using a battle simulator, where you can whip-up a team in under a minute, takes that away.

Or, at least it does for me.

I agree with Zeb - I play on Showdown mostly to test things (which is why my rating is perpetually between 14 and 1700 as one of the things I test inevitably fails horribly now matter how hard I try xD) and then breed or RNG it for on-cart battles. Honestly, the cart is just much prettier than PS! so I prefer it, but you obviously can't get a good 6v6 OU match on a whim so I do play PS! a lot. IMO the two go hand in hand.

And why can't Wi-Fi battling and simulators coexist? Smogon has both Wi-Fi battling and simulator battles (maybe not for tournaments but they have areas to ask for them and also subforum for the Battle Spot) and you only need to look at some of the Smogon members on Youtube to see they play both cart and sim. They also have a booming Wi-Fi trade section... Just because you can't be bothered breeding and battling on cart doesn't mean it's behind the times and people have to ditch it. (I'm mentioning Smogon because it's obviously the biggest name in the competitive battling community of Pokemon.)

I know I prefer cart because it's far more enjoyable to look at while you're playing than showdown's boring layout and you also don't have to put up with people whining and bitching about every tiny little thing that doesn't go their way, whereas, yes, showdown is obviously better if you want to test things before breeding them (this is an option you know, you don't have to choose between sim and cart and then stick to that forever like some sort of blood contract) and also if you want to use things that are hard to get in-game.

That is why Smogon should be your primary source for competitive battling.

Last I checked, Game Freak doesn't make any of the battle simulators. Why should Bulbagarden focus on a third-party product?

I've gone to my local VGC for the previous 2 times. I got destroyed early on. I hate their stupid limitations.

Isshu should have stayed relatively the same, IMO, and Oshawhatthef*** is screwing with me as well. Tepig is okay, I guess, but Snivy outdoes Smugleaf, in my opinion.
