Yeah, see, that's the thing...I'm not sure if I want the third movie.
My mom just got the first two movies for her birthday from a friend, though, so maybe I'll ask said friend where she got it. They're just two movies I love to the degree that I feel like I should have a hard copy, not just a digital one. (Plus, there are significant chunks of both films that are in Italian with English subtitles, and a lot of ding-dongs who put them on the Internet manage to include them without the subtitles. I watched Part II online and it was ridiculously hard to find a subtitled version. I don't understand why; the original film had them, since it was made for an English-speaking audience!)
Yeah, there are a lot of series that I kick myself for not buying back when they were still in print. Like... I doubt that I'll ever own all the Galaxy Angel series now.
@Faye Valentine; Thought that I'd warn you that there is at least one bootleg Cowboy Bebop set that I know of (and actually own). Make sure that if you buy your boxset from anywhere besides a trusted retailer, that you get a chance to see the set before you buy. Here's pics of the bootleg that I own.
This is what the set looks like. Front, back, spine.
The outside of the set, unfolded.
The inside. The full set is crammed onto three DVDs, thus really killing the video quality, especially during action scenes.
The skinny: This is a bootleg set that is pretty much a ripoff of the US release, contains Japanese language, English Bandai dub, English subtitles, and probably Chinese subtitles as well, I can't remember. Make sure that you don't get yourself ripped off.
Yeah, Cowboy Bebop is OOP. I was lucky enough to grab a copy when it was still ~$30.
What's REALLY ridiculous is how both new releases of Gurren Lagann are $175 and upwards of $600 for the DVD and the Blu-ray versions, respectively.
You see, Cowboy Bebop is like freaking awesome and stuff, so it costs more than Fullmetal Alchemist. It's literally like that simple bro. :I
I've noticed that animated series are really expensive on DVD. Don't know why but it definitely sucks.
Give me a physical copy any day. Digital media is so charmless.
A lot of the time, it really depends on who has licensed the series. If you are in the United States, Funimation has FMA, and Funimation has been very good at having decently priced season sets for a while (as well as keeping most of their catalog in print). Cowboy Bebop, on the other hand, was licensed by Bandai... last time I checked, it's out of print (which really drives prices up on items). Madoka is released by Aniplex, right? They are stuck in the early 00's with their DVD pricing.

it varies by country and who the publisher is.

@industrial; Sorry I'm really only a pyromaniac when it can accommodate my alcoholism as well.
i.e., I need to be drinking the booze
Oh and of course don't try this at home, if you do and hurt yourself it isn't my fault.
Don't spill any, haha, you WILL burn your face off.
Flaming Dr. Peppers are fun, though.
Another cool thing you can do with fire and alcohol - take a small piece of terrycloth, like a square of towel or something, and bundle it up into the best ball-shape you can. Tie it up tightly with twine or floss, soak it in rubbing alcohol (isopropyl is absolutely the best), to the point of being dripping wet. Now light it on fire, and you have a fireball. It burns at such a cool temperature that you can actually handle it for short periods of time!
Light the amaretto/151 and let it burn a while. Blow it out (or leave it burning if you're brave) and slam it. Tastes just like Dr. Pepper.
These guy's for real? I totally want to burn my face off, just to drink that. Sounds interesting though.
Happy birthday. Stay safe.
I hope it does get better there soon...
