Hellion, have you ever thought that Iris was the Brock of BW and maybe that's why she doesn't seem like she doing anything in your eyes? Because I've been thinking the same thing. For years May and Dawn along with Ash have been pretty active in the Pokemon world lately. All of a sudden we finally get a new secondary boy on the main cast. So what is a way to make him more interesting than Brock ever was? By making the main girl almost invisible.

So I'm going to stay away from this until Ash is completely off the air. But yes, I will say a prayer for compassion of others.
Your list is spot on! It makes so much sense. I also like that some of the rivals are in Slytherin. I also think that Trip could be one if he wanted to. He has a Serperior for God's sake!
Hellion, I liked how you adding Claire Huxtable in there like that. I agree with somewhat of what you're saying. I like certain characters myself. And yes, I am a fan girl for some of them. But I've noticed that all characters have things that needs work on and I know what they are. I just don't want people to say that just because others hate my character that they should be kicked off the air. I don't like Iris but I won't say she needs to leave. The writers can make her go when they are ready. But that's their decision not ours. For example, I love Ash but there is a ton wrong with him and I know and voice that. Doesn't mean he needs to leave. So does the other characters but I think people all need to be respected of their characters. People should also be opened to critism because it's not to you but it's to a character on screen. I wish people wouldn't get so angry and offended by fake children anime characters. This should go for Cilan and Misty fans as well. I sometimes see you write rants to fans and I just sit back and watch. It gets crazy sometimes and I wonder if people can be opened to see how the writing in this series is affecting their character.
I tired to laugh at this but it's not really all that funny. I don't think Iris is a Mary sue of the least. I never thought that because she is never seen training or battling as much. Dragonite is pretty much her only tough edge right now. Excadrill is strong but it's not unbeatable, Axew is underused and learns attacks out of the blue and Emonga seems like it's not in the main cast anymore. There is a difference with how Paul was a Mary sue then to Iris. He was usually seen training his Pokemon. All and I mean all of his Pokemon kicked ass all the time and he won quite a few battles on screen not beating up Ash all the time. So there is a bit of difference. I think having a Dragonite on the main cast is like having Charizard who is hasn't been seen in a long time. So in someway, I don't think having one makes her a sue. I just hope Drayden isn't a push over like some of the other gymleaders in the past and puts her in her place.
I thought Lost in Translation was really good. I agree with you about Zoolander and American Beauty, though.
Love Actually is one of my favorites too!
I laughed very hard at this.
Oh come on guys! There's nothing wrong about kidding around once in a while. We all know that Hellion is secretly uber tsundere for Iris and her brilliant writing :P. btw I just noticed that this blog was made to mock this blog: http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/blogs/23871/iris-not-mary-sue-32892/index2.html
Iris jokes are so boring, IMO. Probably because Iris' fanbase is rather niche that you can't get a reaction out of anyone. Unlike a certain other character.
you seemed as much annoyed by iris as I am
I liked this blog before even reading it. And I was not disappointed.
Remarkable
I like Iris.
That was so funny I forgot to laugh!
Best blog post I've seen for over a month. :3
Hilarious. This is a godly blog post!

Well at least Iris isn't an author avatar. Unless she is. In which case I want to meet the person with hair like that.
I have more then a few hilarious knock knock jokes about Iris fans, but I'll keep them for myself. How will we ever cope.
