I didn't mean to ignore DP's, DP's is just more specific to DP. HG/SS proves that it's just Sinnoh's legends, and not necessarily the legend of any other region. After all, DP also says it's only mythology.

EDIT: What I mean is, everyone was citing DP's entry as evidence that Arceus really did create everything, ignoring how HG/SS states that it's just Sinnoh legend.

Even if Arceus created the universe/world/Sinnoh/pies, it's still never stated to have any further dominion over them.

We've all seen that Game Freak is taking the "all myths are true" approach to their box legends, or else the game's main plot wouldn't exist in the first place.

Also why are you quoting HgSs' entry while completely ignoring DP's?

Diamond: It is described in mythology as the Pokémon that shaped the universe with its 1,000 arms.

Pearl: It is told in mythology that this Pokémon was born before the universe even existed.

I'm not sure that the Legend actually implies that Arceus created the Universe. I believe it was more of, it created the means for the Universe to Exist.

Another thing I would like to point out. It was fact, not legend, that the world was Flat. It was fact, that the sun revolved around the earth.
Facts change, legends change. Get over it... to put it simply. ^^

It is possible that Arceus did create the Universe in it's entirety, and arguments assuming such are... assuming such. If you want to argue if it is true, that's a different topic. But if the base already is going under the assumption that Arceus is the Creator, then there is no reason to question that if it's not the point of the argument. In other-words, it would be picking at things that are irrelevant to the actual topic.

Raticate is definitely a rat, I agree. but it's species name is in fact 'Mouse Pokémon".
And raikou is most definitely not a lion, it's a smilodon (aka saber toothed tiger), at least more then anything else. The legendary beasts don't appear to draw influence from any one single thing. So technically any thing they might resemble is still fair game (there could be a saber toothed tiger pokémon, for example).
I totally agree that raticate and ratata are rats, and I don't think they should make a new rat pokémon (and definitely not another mouse), I was just sayin'.

Raticate is a rat... And as for the Entei, Raikou, and Suicuine thing...everyone mostly considers them Lions...especially Entei and Raikou.

I want to see a Lego Man pokemon...that would be Hillarious!

hahah. that would be pretty cool actually.
there really are plenty of rodent options still... hell, rats are still an option xD thanks to Ratata being a "Mouse pokémon". makes no sense...
not that I think there should be a rat pokémon! I don't.

Entei Raikou and Suicune aren't the lion trio, they're the beasts. Each one of them is sort of based on a different animal, and entei is arguably based on a lion. But they're also legendary.

    Stantler is a Reindeer.

Yeah, I was referring to Tropius, not Sudowoodo. Also, Bonsly is based on a Bonsai. Sudowoodo isn't.

We have some of the pokemon you mentioned...

The Lion Trio; Entei, Raikou, and Suicune.

    Ditto is like an Amobea

And Stantler is a gazzelle like Pokemon.

But new types of them in Generation V is HIGHLY likely

Also..Sudowoodo isnt a Tropical Tree, hes a Japanese Bonsai Tree
