Hey guys
As the title implies, I'm very interested in Anime. I have the entire Full Metal Panic series at home, and I LOVE it so far, (haven't seen it all yet so please don't give away spoilers) I've seen an episode of Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist, Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell and Gundam Seed, (and obviously pokemon). I enjoyed them, but I much prefered Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist/Panic, Ghost in the Shell and pokemon because I prefer fantasy "adventures" over big robots, (I know Full Metal Panic had suits in it, but I feel it's not a big robot show).
So, to cut a short story really long, what anime do you think I would enjoy, and would recommend I buy, there is almost nothing on TV here, except now they are playing the Studio Ghibli movies and Ghost in the Shell once a week which is nice, but that will finish soon.
I hope you can help me,
Cheers Liam

So are you looking to download fansubs? Or are you intending to buy series available in Australia from Madman Entertainment?
Got any specifics on what sort of things you'd like to see in anime? Fantasy "adventures" is one thing, but that's fairly broad. Too broad.

I was intending to buy them from Madman, (my stupid logic is, if I buy something, that means the company can use my money to make more movies/games/music).
Can I ask a really stupid question? (I guess I already did), but what's a fansub? I looked on Wikipedia and it said it was a foreign movie with fan made subtitles. However, if that was true, it seems pretty illegal, and this site seems to be pretty heavy-handed on illegal downloads, so now I'm really confused.
Sorry, I've got no idea about what I would like, I was hoping you could recommend somethings, sorry.
Cheers Liam

Fansubs are fan-subtitled anime episodes and/or movies. Bulbagarden is affiliated with the main Pokémon fansubber, #pocketmonsters, and we also host their forum (it's a sub-forum of the Pokémon anime discussion).
It's true that we usually look down on illegal downloads, and for good reason, but there's a big difference with (most) fansubs, and that's simply that the companies have given their (unwritten) support to the practice, under certain ethical guidelines that the fansub community has set itself (like not subbing and/or distributing subs of anime that have been licensed for English release).
In any case....of stuff Madman has licensed, you might enjoy
FLCL
Irresponsible Captain Tylor
GTO
Hellsing
Love Hina
Lunar Legend: Tsukihime
Magical Shopping Street Abenobashi
Martain Successor Nadesico
Midori Days
Rurouni Kenshin
Samurai 7
Scrapped Princess
Scryed
Slayers
Trigun
And that's just off the top of my head. ^^;; All those should be available in series boxsets. If you're not sure about the series after reading a series synopsis, you might consider downloading an illegal fansub of episode 1 as a "try before you buy" measure. I can give you a place for that if necessary.
As for fansubs...hell, there's a huge number of series available there. Animesuki.com is your best bet, as they stick only to the "legit" fansubs.
Out of the ones Archaic listed, Slayers is the most fantasy adventure out of the ones that I've seen, so I'd put my reccomendation there.

I'd go with any of Hayao Miyazaki's movies
-Princess Mononoke
-My Neighbor Totoro
-Spirited Away
-Howl's Moving Castle
-The Cat Returns
-Laputa: Castle in the Sky
-Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

Yeah, Miyazaki's movies are great, but I always cry during them. Ahh, I think I understand with the subbing thing. Lol, that's a big list you've got, I like the idea of downloading a try-before-buy thing sounds very good, I'll have a look at the AnimeSuki site you recommended.
Thanks all for the help, hopefully I'll find something I'll really enjoy :)
Cheers Liam
Slayers, Rune Soldier Louie, and Orphen are all fantasy-comedy adventures.

Mahoujin Guruguru!!! If you're an oldschool RPG fan, you may find some of this quite amusing. XD You can get it using BitTorrent @ http://a.scarywater.net/akeep/%5BAnime-Keep%5D_Mahoujin_Guruguru_-_1-45.torrent
Keep in mind that this includes episodes 1-45 and is about 7GB in size. :p If you're familiar with BT, however, you'll know that you can prioritize or select only certain files for download.

Kadabra, with that BitTorrent, I've downloaded tyhe first one, but when I try and play it, or other episodes dl'ed from Bittorrent, on Windows Media Player, all I see is that annoying background thing and hear it all in Japanese. What do I have to do to fix it?
Edit: I downloaded DivX and it worked great, *SD, that show is freaking hilarious Kadabra, I'm dlíng the rest now

I'd recommend getting Xvid, not DivX. Better compatibility with more recent stuff, and it'll play older stuff just as well.
http://www.koepi.org is your best place to download an installable version of the Xvid codec.
