I wanted to take a moment and inform everyone that after 7+ years, I will be leaving my position as head of marketing for Bandai Entertainment as of Friday, August 5.
I’ve been a fan of anime for a long, long time. Back in 91, I remember heading off to Shrine Comic Con in LA for the premiere of the US release of Gunbuster, ironically enough, years later I would end up be working with these same people to help bring even more anime over to North America.
It’s been a long road, I’ve met a lot of interesting people, made a lot of good friends and co-workers, but more importantly, I was lucky enough to do a job that I had a passion for. It has been a remarkable and rewarding experience and one that I will cherish forever. And for all of that, I am truly grateful for the opportunity Bandai has given me.
Thank you to everyone on AoD and all the fans I’ve met along the way – whether you know it or not, you all play a crucial role in how well anime does over here (just try not to bootleg and fansub it to hell)
Some of you might be asking what I’ll be doing next. Who knows? I’ll probably hang out in HK for awhile, playing ball somewhere. Anyone need the services of a semi-decent blackjack player?
If you would like to contact me personally, you could probably scour the internet and find my email addy somewhere. But otherwise, you are all more than welcome to visit the #askjerry channel.
Who knows, maybe I’ll be back…
