Q: What is Fizzy Bubbles?
A: It is an addictive soft drink.... ^_^ j/k Actually, it's a Forum Text Based Pokémon RPG. Trainers can raise Pokemon, go on adventures, and try to become a Pokémon Master. Events and situations are created in individual zones and shops. Each zone is unique in terms of what Pokémon can be found and what adventures will take place. Zones are run by Zone Owners who decide your fate.
Q: Is this like Pokémon Crater or something?
A: No, this is nothing like Crater. At Pokemon Crater all you do is click away with the mouse, in Fizzy Bubbles you type. This is an RPG and you will need a relatively good imagination in order to get the most out of it. You will have your own adventure in each of the zones ranging from your basic wandering along, see Pokémon, battle Pokémon, KO/capture Pokémon to a major story line where you can be rewarded with items. The better your reply to an update, the better your adventure. Updators appreciate good role-playing and will reward you accordingly if they are impressed with the effort you put in. So basically, crappy reply = crappy update. If you're not willing to put in the effort, neither are we because we've all found through experience that its disheartening to put in a lot of effort only to be met with shabby replies.
Q: What is FB, UPN, SPPF, BMG?
A: FB stands for Fizzy Bubbles. UPN stands for Ultimate Pokémon Network, Fizzy Bubbles base of operations. SPPF stands for Serebi's Pokémon Place Forums, Fizzy Bubbles second base of operations. BMG is Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden, or "Bulbagarden" for short, which is our third FB branch.
Q: When is FB's birthday?
A: October 22nd
Q: If Fizzy Bubbles closes down on Serebii, and you don't have an account on the other boards, are you wiped?
A: No, you're still a member so your details will simply be transferred to one of the other two branches (UPN or BMG).
Q: Is FB its own world, or island, or what?
A: Most people think of it as a planet, with the zones being continents, but you're free to think of it as you'd like.
Q: What time zone does FB run on?
A: British time, or GMT.
Q: Where did the name Fizzy Bubbles come from?
A: It was originally a Water Type Pokémon RPG, hence the Bubbles part, and Fizzy was just added to make it more catchy.
Q: How did FB start? Who was FB's creator?
A: FB originally started at BMG back in 1998, but it wasn't what we have now. It was a Water RPG just for Water Pokémon trainers, but then gradually evolved to include more Pokémon before eventually turning into what we have now. When BMG died in 2000, FB also died. In 2002 Arnold, Morg, and UndeadBeat revived it at UPN and it's been running solidly ever since. Over the next few years FB's management changed and in 2004 we branched out to Serebii before branching out again to Bulbagarden in 2005. It was originally started by Golden Lugia, and Arnold is now the only original FB member still actively taking part in today's version of the RPG.
Q: What's the Bar's purpose?
A: Only for RPing. Not for Chat.
Q: I've been gone for FB for a while, where's my registration post?
A: It was put into storage, PM a mod and they'll move it out for you.
Q: Does FB have a mascot?
A: Not right now.
Q: How does FB come to another forum?
A: Usually, FB's management will know the site Admin of another forum (Serebii's Yami Ron and Bulbagarden's Archaic were known by us before we branched over to those two forums). If the site admin suggests opening a branch on their board and we feel we are able to extend without any trouble, then FB's Mods will make the decision as to whether or not the move will take place.

Q: I'm signed up on UPN. Do I have to re sign up on Serebii and Bulbagarden or is it like the same thing at all three places? What I'm asking is, Are the other two a new fizzy bubbles or an expansion from UPN?
A: Serebii and Bulbagarden are extensions of the UPN branch, they are not a separate entities. All three branches of FB are linked and so run consecutively meaning you don't need to redo the registration test when signing up to the other two.
Q: I've been considering joining UPN's FB, but I see no Fizzy Bubbles area. (Asked at Serebii)
A: You can only see the FB Forums after registering as a UPN member.
Q: Say a certain person wanted to use one of the "forbidden" starting Pokémon. Would there be any way for this person to use it if we were to write a detailed back story or something?
A: No, sorry. You'll eventually get what you're looking for if you try hard enough but Rare and Super Rare Pokémon are classified as such for a reason. They're not meant to be easy to get a hold of. Legendary Pokémon are totally out of the question though. They will never be available to own.
Q: Can I name my Pokémon? Also what if I want to change their names?
A: Yes, you can name them. You can also change their nicknames whenever you like.
Q: In Serebii's Pokedex it says that my Pokemon starts with Quick Attack in FL and Tackle in RS. Which one does it actually start with in FB?
A: We always go by up to date moves. This means the newest games. As of now, that means the Diamond and Pearls moveset.
Q: Where do I keep a record of my progress?
A: You edit your Registration Post in the Registration Thread to keep a record of your Pokémon and items as you collect them.
Q: What is a home board?
A: A Home Board is the FB base of operations you signed up with, either UPN, SPPF, or BMG, and determines posting restrictions. Please read the rules for more information.
Q: Can you change home boards?
A: Not unless a mod makes an announcement allowing them.
Q: What do I get when I start out?
A: A Starter Pack containing a Backpack, Pokédex, Berry Bag, Pokéblock Case, Rare Candy and Coin Case.
Q: What do I do with the special Pokéball I got at registration?
A: Use it to catch Pokemon xfd. You also have the option of trading it for some other things at Cable Club, or cashing it in at the Coin Exchange. We do not recommend eating it.
Q: You don't have to have anything to do with UPN and you can just register and do everything from SPPF?
A: Correct, though with UPN being FB's base of operation it does provide extra facilities that the Serebii and Bulbagarden branches don't.
Q: When you get the test sent to you, how many answers do you need to have correct?
A: All of them.
Q: A mod hasn't replied to my RP test. How long does it take?
A: Just be patient, they'll be looked over eventually.

01.2 Starting your Adventure: Zones!

Q: How do I start catching Pokémon? Do I..type..I RAN INTO A PIKACHU! or what?
A: Your updater will do that for you. Just remember that it is also their choice in regard to which Pokémon you encounter because each zone has specific types available. Please do not post saying what Pokémon you want to find because it won't happen. Part of the FB experience is the adventure itself, the Pokémon you come across and the battles/hardships you will face.
Q: I can't find the Pokémon I want. I keep hinting to the Zone Owner I want it, but it never shows up!
A: Stop whining. A Zone Owner is not there to fulfill your every wish and dream, only to make an adventure for you. If you really want to find something, be patient and make sure you're looking in the right places. Chances are you're not finding it because you keep hinting so perhaps if you stop you might get lucky.
Q: I just caught a Pokémon and it used an attack before it doesn't know at it's current level. Does my Pokémon know the attack?
A: Your Pokémon will only know attacks it would have at it's capture level. Sometimes in a fit of blind rage a wild Pokémon will use an attack it wouldn't currently know while battling. Shortly after it calms down the Pokémon in unaware of the attack it used. This includes TM, MT, and Egg Moves. Another possibility is that if you used a high leveled Pokémon to attack a low leveled Pokémon then your updator will have upped the Pokémon's level for the purpose of the storyline but then brought it down again for the capture. This is quite a common practice in zones as it's unfair to use a Lv.69 Arcanine against a Lv.3 Bellsprout.
Q: Could I leave a certain zone to join another?
A: You can be in multiple zones at the same time. You can be in Cloud Garden, Water Zone, The Mansion and Volcanic Mountain. Each adventure is separate and has nothing to do with your adventures in the other zones. However for example, if you are in Serebii's Cloud Garden you CANNOT be in UPN's Cloud Garden. You can only enter one of them because they are identical zones just different forums.
Q: What happens if my all Pokemon are KOed in a Zone?
A: The updater will tell you that you fainted and need to stay out for some updates. This usually doesn't happen.
Q: My Pokemon KOed another Pokemon. Why didn't it level up?
A: It's the updater's decision whether or not your Pokemon deserved a level up. Their rule is final. If you feel something happened that was truly unjust, PM a Moderator and we'll talk to them about it.
Q: How come some things are available at UPNetwork and not at Serebii or vice-versa?
A: Sometimes it's a matter of each branch having exclusive items, etc, but mostly it's because UPN is FB's base of operation and offers more than the other branches.
Q: Can we catch Legendary Pokemon?
A: No. Legends can be seen, battled with, befriended by, but never captured. Not even a Legendary Masterball can catch these beasts of myth.
Q: If a wild Pokémon is KO'd, can you throw a ball? If so, will you still get Exp.?
A: You can throw a Pokéball at a KO'd Pokémon, yes. As far as experience goes, if you capture the Pokémon before the KO you don't get any levels for the battle. If the Pokémon is KO'd it's your updater's decision as to whether or not your Pokémon deserves a level for the KO.
For example, a level 20 Squirtle KOing a level 4 Numel probably won't get any levels unless it's been a particularly hard battle due to other circumstances in play at the time, but if they're relatively evenly matched then it will definitely receive a level.
Q: How come I haven't been updated yet? What's taking so long?
A: Many of us have lives outside of FB. While we do have responsibilities, we can't always be here at a moment's notice all the time. If you were skipped in the last update, PM the updater stating you were missed.
Q: Umm, can I ask something? If so, how often the updates usually appear? ^_^;
A: It all depends on how much spare time the updater has to work on them. We do like to update at least once a week, more if possible, but a lot of the time that is impossible. You have to remember that updaters have lives as well, we don't spend all day sitting in front of the computer waiting for replies to come in. Many of us have work and/or school and are often tired by the end of the day and can't always get them up as often as we would like to be able to.
And another thing everyone has to keep in mind. Please don't be questioning updaters in the zones or via PM about when we will be updating. This has happened before and it's extremely annoying. We know we have to do them and we are often harder on ourselves that you are so don't be nagging for updates unless there's a very good reason for it (like the zone hasn't been updated in a month), or there's a very distinct possibility that you will be skipped completely in the next set.
Q: I have my Squirtle being used in all the zones, so can I put it in a shop?
A: Zone Pokémon cannot be used in shops. However, if you insist on putting it into a shop then you cannot reply to any updates you may receive using that Pokémon until it has been picked up.
Q: If I attach a Macho Brace to my Pokemon, will it level up faster?
A: No. It's just for looks, like many items.
Q: Do power-up items have any real affect in battle?
A: Not really, but they are basically used to make a Pokémon more "complete."
Q: If I have my Pokemon in a Serebii shop, can I use them in a UPN zone?
A: Pokémon cannot be used in Shops and Zones at the same time, this is clearly stated in the Rules. Which board you are posting on is irrelevant. All FB Shops and all FB Zones are the same. If your Pokémon is in any Shop, it cannot be used in any FB Zone. Duh. :P
Q: Are there Pokecenters in the zones?
A: Yes, there a few scattered around.
Q: How do one hit KO moves work in FB?
A: It's up to the updator - some may use an accuracy system, while some may just have it do extreme damage instead of KO.
Q: How do attacks look?
A: Most updators use the anime descriptions of the attacks, though some may go with the games. Personal preference.
Q: How would you go about leaving a zone?
A: RP your departure, or if it's a sudden decision to leave then PM your updator informing them of your decision.
Q: If your Pokemon is stolen in a zone, can you use it in other places?
A: Yes.
Q: What if you no longer have a Pokemon that was stolen in a zone?
A: Ask your updator about it.
Q: Can you travel with another person if you're in different update groups?
A: No, you both need to be in the same group. However, people can see other people as long as it's in both updates, and not just one person's.
Q: How can I tell which type of Pokemon I'll encounter here?
A: Just use sense considering the area type. A volcano would yield fire types.
Q: Can an updator make a move fail if the Pokemon is incapable of such a technique?
A: Yes.
Q: How many Pokemon can be on each side in a battle?
A: As many as the updator can handle.

01.3 Misc. Trainer Questions

Q: If I have an account on Serebii and UPN, and I get something I want there, and want it here, can I trade over.
A: You do not have two accounts. Serebii and UPN Fizzy Bubbles are one in the same just on different forums. Anything Pokémon, Items, or etc you obtain on one forum you will automatically have on the other.
Q: How can I own a zone?
A: Whenever we feel a Zone is needed, we will make an announcement about it. If you think you have a very good idea, PM the Mods about it.
NOTE: After things become open to the public, we will see which individuals we (the Mods) feel are good Role Players and see if they are good at also being a Zone Owner. So if you really want a zone, be sure to impress us.
Q: Can I catch an evolved pokemon with an Ultra Ball?
A: Nope. It only makes catching unevolved or rarer Pokémon slightly easier.
Q: I have 6 Pokemon on my team and 3 Pokemon in my PC, but I still want more Pokemon! What do I do?
A: Don't be greedy. If you must, ask a friend to hold it.
Q: If a wild pokémon is KO, can you throw a ball? If so, will you still get Exp.?

Q: Where can I get TMs?
A: TMs are available for purchase in Coins for Prizes. Others are won during special events in Zones, but that is rare. You can also win them in the Arcade and Casino, or via trading in the Cable Club.
Q: Can you use Rare Candy on Pokemon in shops (i.e. Daycare)?
A: Yes, however you can only use Rare Candy in Daycare on a Monday when Dropping off/Picking up your Pokémon. Make sure to post in the Bank linking your post when using Rare Candy.
Q: Do you have to evolve your Pokémon? Does the updater evolve them when it is time? How does it happen?
A: Updaters won't evolve your Pokémon. If it is capable of evolving or you want it to evolve at a certain level it is your choice. They don't have to evolve at all if that is what you want. What most trainers do is they will add it to a reply of an update after that Pokémon has just finished a battle and leveled up. Or if you boost it up with Rare Candy to have it evolve.
Q: Can a Pokémon be raised past level 100?
A: They could, but there really isn't any need for it. Many members already have level 100 Pokémon but we don't go beyond it.
Q: How do you use TMs? Do you RP teaching your pokemon a move, or something else?
A: You can RP in a post or post in a shop or where you got the TM saying you are using it, but the preferable choice is to post in the Training Centre.
Q: Since any Pokemon can learn any TM, how can a Chikorita use Steel Wing, or a Caterpie learn Fire Punch or other stuff like that?
A: You don't have to teach your Pokemon strange attacks. I personally try and stick to the attacks my Pokemon can learn. However certain TMs don't exist in the newer games. For example if a Skitty can learn Water Pulse in RS/E/F/L why couldn't it learn Bubblebeam? Use your judgment, it's up to you if you want your Pokemon to be a freak. Besides, updators will just make an attack fail if you teach something unreasonable to your Pokémon which in the end is a waste of a TM.
Q. What can my Ditto Transform into?
A: Your Ditto can only transform into a Pokémon it is battling or one on your squad so long as it is active (ie, a part of the update/battle). Also in certain situations such as a double/multiple battle Ditto can transform into an ally Pokémon that is fighting along side of it. Ditto can only use attacks that the Pokémon it transformed into would know at Ditto's current level.
Q: Questions about Sketch:
1. Is their a limited amount of moves you can Sketch?
A: Yes, Smearlge learns Sketch 10 times before hitting level 100.
2. Can you relearn Sketch via Move Tutor?
A: No you cannot relearn Sketch from the Tutor.
3. Can you Sketch a teammate's move? (ie; In a double battle, in a campaign)
A: No. It has to be attacked in order to learn the move, and a teammate isn't going to attack their ally.
4. If Sketch fails in a battle, can you still use it in that battle?
A: No, it is up to the updater if the move fails. Your Sketching could interfere with the story. If it fails you won't be able to copy that move or any move in that particular battle. In other words, you can only attempt using it once per battle.
Q: If you have a Nincada and you let it evolve into Ninjask and get the extra Shedinja, does the Shedinja knows the TM/EM/MT moves taught to it as a Nincada?
A: Yes, it does.
Q: Do pokemon have natures in Fizzy Bubbles?
A: Yes, but once you've decided on a nature and posted in the PokeSpa, you MAY NOT change the nature of your Pokémon.
Q: Does an ability like Pick Up, Oblivious or Insomnia work in FB?
A: Pick Up doesn't, but Wonder Guard and Forecast work in the zones and all abilities are in effect in Gym Battles. It is up to the updator whether or not the other abilities will work in zones.
Q: Can you change the nicknames of your pokemon?
A: Yes.
Q: Can a Pokemon overdose on medicine?
A: Yes. If an updator feels that you are abusing medicine, they may have the Pokemon get sick.
Q: Can you make one of your Pokemon allergic to medicine or something else (plants, food, etc.)?
A: Yes.
Q: If I'm gone, can I ask another person to look after my account and use candies on Pokemon or adopt Pokemon?
A: Yes, but make sure to leave SPECIFIC instructions as to what you want done and they can only look after your account for a maximum of four weeks before you are considered inactive. You must also PM the Mods or Shops owners of your Home Board so they are aware of your absence.
Q: What if my Serebii account is deleted due to inactivity?
A: Simply make a new account with the same name and inform the Mods so they can sort it out for you.
Q: Are Pokemon in shops still on your squad?
A: Yes, it's stated in the shops rules. Read them.
Q: Can we change our trainer's name?
A: If you wish, but not too often in order to not confuse your updator.
Q: Can we recolor our Pokemon? If so, to what extent?
A: Read the Pokémon Boutique for details.
Q: How could one obtain a Missingno.?
A: Unless you are Kuno, the webmaster of UPN, you can't. Plus Missingno. is not a Pokémon, it's a game glitch so don't get your hopes up of obtaining one via the Egg House, trade with Kuno, or any other way. It won't happen. Ever. Do not even try. You're wasting your time.
Q: Do Pokeblocks exist in FB?
A: Yes, see the shops involving them for more details.
Q: How do you become an updator?
A: Apply for the position through the channels mentioned when a ZO advertises in the Assistant Application Centre.
Q: If you capture a Pokemon and trade it away, does it count as a capture still?
A: Yes.
Q: All of my Pokemon are being used in shops, what should I do if I get updated?
A: Wait until they're out to reply.
Q: What happens if I order my Shedinja to use Curse?
A: It will faint.
Q: Where can I get TM's?
A: Coins for Prizes, Casino, Cable Club, Arcade, other giveaways.
Q: Can I take a TM back from a Pokemon and teach it to another?
A: No.
Q: To what extent can we customize our Pokemon, apart from color? Can we add clothes, etc.?
A: Yes, but if you give your Pokemon a weapon or something, it can only be used for show, not in battle. See the Pokémon Boutique for more information.
Q: If I have a Mantine, can I have a Remoraid on its wing for comic relief, but not have an effect on battle?
A: Sadly, that would be too hard to monitor and such...So no, sorry.
Q: Can we make a Pokemon forget a move?
A: ...If you'd really like to. Sorta waste of a move, though.
Q: Must I use the items I received for holidays (Magical Dragonair Plushie, Easter chocolate items, etc.) immediately?
A: It's preferred that you would, but you don't have to unless otherwise stated. Make sure you save the links.
Q: Unown Questions-
-Is Unown a legendary?
A: No.
-How is Unown's Letter/Hidden Power decided?
A: The updator or Egg House Owner uses an RNG.
Q: Can any move become a TM?
A: No.
Q: Is Kangaskhan's baby considered a Pokemon for RPing purposes?
A: No, only the mother may be used in battle and such.
Q: Will Pay Day result in any after effects such as coins being added to your account?
A: You wish :p
Q: What other effects can Pokeblocks have other than gaining contest boosts?
A: None, you can't use them to attract wild Pokemon or anything.
Q: Can you change a Pokemon's gender?
A: No, it's not allowed.
Q: Can a Pokemon control what Nightmares it gives an opponent?
A: It's really up to the updator, some will allow it and others will not.

Q: How do I evolve non-level or non-stone related Pokemon?
i.e. Feebas ~> Milotic.
A: There is a Beauty Shop for Beauty and Happiness related evolutions. For trade evolutions, there is a Cable Club for trading.
Q: My Pokemon evolves into different things. Which one does it evolve into?
A: You decide which evolution path you want it to go in.
I.E. Eevee becomes Umbreon or Espeon you decide which evolution you want.
Q: Will Slowpoke evolve if a Shellder bites its head/tail?
A: No.
Q: The evolved form of my Pokemon learns Water Gun at Lv.15, but it doesn't evolve until Lv.16. What happens?
A: You must use the Move Relearner in the Move Tutor.
Q: The evolved form of my Pokemon doesn't know a move my current one does. If I evolve it, will it still know it?
A: Yes.
Q: If I evolve my Nincada, will I get a Shedinja?
A: You must have a spare spot on your team and at least one spare Pokeball when Nincada reaches level 20.
Q: What? I heard that you could evolve your Pokemon whenever you wanted!
A: Uh...No, you can't. o0;
Q: Can we evolve a Pokemon in the middle of the level?
A: As long as it's at the required level for evolution.
Q: Can you de-evolve Pokemon?
A: No.

Q: I heard about Master Balls. How can I get one?
A: You cannot obtain one through trading or anything of the like. They are only available through special events which are uncommon at best.
Q: What about other special odd balls? How can I get them?
A: Special Pokéballs are mainly given out during special events, but some are available as prizes in the Casino's Daily Pick draw.
Q: What are the specs for an Xmas Ball?
A: - Xmas Ball - A red and green Pokéball with a snowflake design also featuring a red blinking release button. A Pokémon is released from this ball in a flurry of snowflakes. Stantler, Delibird, or Snorunt will receive two Beauty Points if captured with this Pokéball. It has the same catch rate as any normal Pokéball.
Q: I got a Love Ball. Now, I'm pretty sure that it has a higher chance of catching a Pokemon of the opposite gender. How would you know that it's the opposite gender? Is it pretty much dumb luck, or what?
A: Ask your updater what the Pokémon's gender is before capture.
Q: Are we allowed to put Pokémon into different Pokéballs? Ex: I put my Pichu in a Luxury Ball to raise it's BP.
A: Yes you can switch your Pokémon into a different Pokéball. However, it will NOT receive the effect from the ball. The effect is only applied when captured.
Q: What are the specs of the Chocolate Ball?
A: A ball made of pure chocolate that never melts, that has the same catch rate as any other Pokeball.
Q: What are the specs of the Thunder and Fire Ball?
A: Thunder Ball allows easier capture of electric types, while the Fire ball allows easier capture of fire types.

Q: Do I need to pay for stuff in Pokemart?
A: Some items yes, others no. See the Pokémart's intro post for full details.
Q: What can I buy and cannot buy?
A: The items you can and cannot buy are listed in the first post of the shop.
Q: I understand that the Pokemart has limited items, but is the limit for all of your tenure in fizzy bubbles, or only for a certain amount of time?
A: It is the limit of how many you can pick up each week and carry at one time.
Q: Why is the Pokemart closed?
A: Monday's over in England, so candies can't be picked up. It will be reopened for normal item purchase during the week.

02.1 The Bank

Q: What is the purpose of the Bank?
A: To keep track of how many rare candies everyone has to prevent cheating.
Q: How do I use the Bank?
A: Post in the bank with all candies you receive along with a link to where you have received it/them. If you are using candies you must clearly state why, and include a link to where you have used them. The only time a link is not required is when you are withdrawing candies for Pokémon level raising.
Q: What if I refuse to post in the Bank and constantly avoid posting?
A: Then you cannot use candies in any way, shape, or form in Fizzy Bubbles. There is even a strong chance you will be banned if you continually refuse to acknowledge the rules.
Q: My friend went on vacation can I collect Rare Candy for him/her?
A: Yes, but you must post for them in the Bank.

A: Any Pokémon dropped into the Adoption Centre will lose any moves learned via Egg, MT, TM or HM training. They will also revert to level 1. I would suggest not using a Pokémon you wish to keep as the answer to a shard riddle.
Q: Can someone else babysit your starter Pokémon?
A: Yes, babysitting is allowed but trading is not.

Q: What is Fizzy Bubbles?
A: It is an addictive soft drink.... ^_^ j/k Actually, it's a Forum Text Based Pokémon RPG. Trainers can raise Pokemon, go on adventures, and try to become a Pokémon Master. Events and situations are created in individual zones and shops. Each zone is unique in terms of what Pokémon can be found and what adventures will take place. Zones are run by Zone Owners who decide your fate.
Q: Is this like Pokémon Crater or something?
A: No, this is nothing like Crater. At Pokemon Crater all you do is click away with the mouse, in Fizzy Bubbles you type. This is an RPG and you will need a relatively good imagination in order to get the most out of it. You will have your own adventure in each of the zones ranging from your basic wandering along, see Pokémon, battle Pokémon, KO/capture Pokémon to a major story line where you can be rewarded with items. The better your reply to an update, the better your adventure. Updators appreciate good role-playing and will reward you accordingly if they are impressed with the effort you put in. So basically, crappy reply = crappy update. If you're not willing to put in the effort, neither are we because we've all found through experience that its disheartening to put in a lot of effort only to be met with shabby replies.
Q: What is FB, UPN, SPPF, BMG?
A: FB stands for Fizzy Bubbles. UPN stands for Ultimate Pokémon Network, Fizzy Bubbles base of operations. SPPF stands for Serebi's Pokémon Place Forums, Fizzy Bubbles second base of operations. BMG is Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden, or "Bulbagarden" for short, which is our third FB branch.
Q: When is FB's birthday?
A: October 22nd
Q: If Fizzy Bubbles closes down on Serebii, and you don't have an account on the other boards, are you wiped?
A: No, you're still a member so your details will simply be transferred to one of the other two branches (UPN or BMG).
Q: Is FB its own world, or island, or what?
A: Most people think of it as a planet, with the zones being continents, but you're free to think of it as you'd like.
Q: What time zone does FB run on?
A: British time, or GMT.
Q: Where did the name Fizzy Bubbles come from?
A: It was originally a Water Type Pokémon RPG, hence the Bubbles part, and Fizzy was just added to make it more catchy.
Q: How did FB start? Who was FB's creator?
A: FB originally started at BMG back in 1998, but it wasn't what we have now. It was a Water RPG just for Water Pokémon trainers, but then gradually evolved to include more Pokémon before eventually turning into what we have now. When BMG died in 2000, FB also died. In 2002 Arnold, Morg, and UndeadBeat revived it at UPN and it's been running solidly ever since. Over the next few years FB's management changed and in 2004 we branched out to Serebii before branching out again to Bulbagarden in 2005. It was originally started by Golden Lugia, and Arnold is now the only original FB member still actively taking part in today's version of the RPG.
Q: What's the Bar's purpose?
A: Only for RPing. Not for Chat.
Q: I've been gone for FB for a while, where's my registration post?
A: It was put into storage, PM a mod and they'll move it out for you.
Q: Does FB have a mascot?
A: Not right now.
Q: How does FB come to another forum?
A: Usually, FB's management will know the site Admin of another forum (Serebii's Yami Ron and Bulbagarden's Archaic were known by us before we branched over to those two forums). If the site admin suggests opening a branch on their board and we feel we are able to extend without any trouble, then FB's Mods will make the decision as to whether or not the move will take place.

Q: I'm signed up on UPN. Do I have to re sign up on Serebii and Bulbagarden or is it like the same thing at all three places? What I'm asking is, Are the other two a new fizzy bubbles or an expansion from UPN?
A: Serebii and Bulbagarden are extensions of the UPN branch, they are not a separate entities. All three branches of FB are linked and so run consecutively meaning you don't need to redo the registration test when signing up to the other two.
Q: I've been considering joining UPN's FB, but I see no Fizzy Bubbles area. (Asked at Serebii)
A: You can only see the FB Forums after registering as a UPN member.
Q: Say a certain person wanted to use one of the "forbidden" starting Pokémon. Would there be any way for this person to use it if we were to write a detailed back story or something?
A: No, sorry. You'll eventually get what you're looking for if you try hard enough but Rare and Super Rare Pokémon are classified as such for a reason. They're not meant to be easy to get a hold of. Legendary Pokémon are totally out of the question though. They will never be available to own.
Q: Can I name my Pokémon? Also what if I want to change their names?
A: Yes, you can name them. You can also change their nicknames whenever you like.
Q: In Serebii's Pokedex it says that my Pokemon starts with Quick Attack in FL and Tackle in RS. Which one does it actually start with in FB?
A: We always go by up to date moves. This means the newest games. As of now, that means the Diamond and Pearls moveset.
Q: Where do I keep a record of my progress?
A: You edit your Registration Post in the Registration Thread to keep a record of your Pokémon and items as you collect them.
Q: What is a home board?
A: A Home Board is the FB base of operations you signed up with, either UPN, SPPF, or BMG, and determines posting restrictions. Please read the rules for more information.
Q: Can you change home boards?
A: Not unless a mod makes an announcement allowing them.
Q: What do I get when I start out?
A: A Starter Pack containing a Backpack, Pokédex, Berry Bag, Pokéblock Case, Rare Candy and Coin Case.
Q: What do I do with the special Pokéball I got at registration?
A: Use it to catch Pokemon xfd. You also have the option of trading it for some other things at Cable Club, or cashing it in at the Coin Exchange. We do not recommend eating it.
Q: You don't have to have anything to do with UPN and you can just register and do everything from SPPF?
A: Correct, though with UPN being FB's base of operation it does provide extra facilities that the Serebii and Bulbagarden branches don't.
Q: When you get the test sent to you, how many answers do you need to have correct?

Q: A mod hasn't replied to my RP test. How long does it take?
A: Just be patient, they'll be looked over eventually.

Q: How do I start catching Pokémon? Do I..type..I RAN INTO A PIKACHU! or what?
A: Your updater will do that for you. Just remember that it is also their choice in regard to which Pokémon you encounter because each zone has specific types available. Please do not post saying what Pokémon you want to find because it won't happen. Part of the FB experience is the adventure itself, the Pokémon you come across and the battles/hardships you will face.
Q: I can't find the Pokémon I want. I keep hinting to the Zone Owner I want it, but it never shows up!
A: Stop whining. A Zone Owner is not there to fulfill your every wish and dream, only to make an adventure for you. If you really want to find something, be patient and make sure you're looking in the right places. Chances are you're not finding it because you keep hinting so perhaps if you stop you might get lucky.
Q: I just caught a Pokémon and it used an attack before it doesn't know at it's current level. Does my Pokémon know the attack?
A: Your Pokémon will only know attacks it would have at it's capture level. Sometimes in a fit of blind rage a wild Pokémon will use an attack it wouldn't currently know while battling. Shortly after it calms down the Pokémon in unaware of the attack it used. This includes TM, MT, and Egg Moves. Another possibility is that if you used a high leveled Pokémon to attack a low leveled Pokémon then your updator will have upped the Pokémon's level for the purpose of the storyline but then brought it down again for the capture. This is quite a common practice in zones as it's unfair to use a Lv.69 Arcanine against a Lv.3 Bellsprout.
Q: Could I leave a certain zone to join another?
A: You can be in multiple zones at the same time. You can be in Cloud Garden, Water Zone, The Mansion and Volcanic Mountain. Each adventure is separate and has nothing to do with your adventures in the other zones. However for example, if you are in Serebii's Cloud Garden you CANNOT be in UPN's Cloud Garden. You can only enter one of them because they are identical zones just different forums.
Q: What happens if my all Pokemon are KOed in a Zone?
A: The updater will tell you that you fainted and need to stay out for some updates. This usually doesn't happen.
Q: My Pokemon KOed another Pokemon. Why didn't it level up?
A: It's the updater's decision whether or not your Pokemon deserved a level up. Their rule is final. If you feel something happened that was truly unjust, PM a Moderator and we'll talk to them about it.
Q: How come some things are available at UPNetwork and not at Serebii or vice-versa?
A: Sometimes it's a matter of each branch having exclusive items, etc, but mostly it's because UPN is FB's base of operation and offers more than the other branches.
Q: Can we catch Legendary Pokemon?
A: No. Legends can be seen, battled with, befriended by, but never captured. Not even a Legendary Masterball can catch these beasts of myth.
Q: If a wild Pokémon is KO'd, can you throw a ball? If so, will you still get Exp.?
A: You can throw a Pokéball at a KO'd Pokémon, yes. As far as experience goes, if you capture the Pokémon before the KO you don't get any levels for the battle. If the Pokémon is KO'd it's your updater's decision as to whether or not your Pokémon deserves a level for the KO.
For example, a level 20 Squirtle KOing a level 4 Numel probably won't get any levels unless it's been a particularly hard battle due to other circumstances in play at the time, but if they're relatively evenly matched then it will definitely receive a level.
Q: How come I haven't been updated yet? What's taking so long?
A: Many of us have lives outside of FB. While we do have responsibilities, we can't always be here at a moment's notice all the time. If you were skipped in the last update, PM the updater stating you were missed.
Q: Umm, can I ask something? If so, how often the updates usually appear? ^_^;
A: It all depends on how much spare time the updater has to work on them. We do like to update at least once a week, more if possible, but a lot of the time that is impossible. You have to remember that updaters have lives as well, we don't spend all day sitting in front of the computer waiting for replies to come in. Many of us have work and/or school and are often tired by the end of the day and can't always get them up as often as we would like to be able to.
And another thing everyone has to keep in mind. Please don't be questioning updaters in the zones or via PM about when we will be updating. This has happened before and it's extremely annoying. We know we have to do them and we are often harder on ourselves that you are so don't be nagging for updates unless there's a very good reason for it (like the zone hasn't been updated in a month), or there's a very distinct possibility that you will be skipped completely in the next set.
Q: I have my Squirtle being used in all the zones, so can I put it in a shop?

A: Yes, there a few scattered around.

A: It's up to the updator - some may use an accuracy system, while some may just have it do extreme damage instead of KO.

A: Most updators use the anime descriptions of the attacks, though some may go with the games. Personal preference.

Q: How can I own a zone?
A: Whenever we feel a Zone is needed, we will make an announcement about it. If you think you have a very good idea, PM the Mods about it.
NOTE: After things become open to the public, we will see which individuals we (the Mods) feel are good Role Players and see if they are good at also being a Zone Owner. So if you really want a zone, be sure to impress us.
Q: Can I catch an evolved pokemon with an Ultra Ball?
A: Nope. It only makes catching unevolved or rarer Pokémon slightly easier.
Q: I have 6 Pokemon on my team and 3 Pokemon in my PC, but I still want more Pokemon! What do I do?
A: Don't be greedy. If you must, ask a friend to hold it.
Q: If a wild pokémon is KO, can you throw a ball? If so, will you still get Exp.?
A: You can throw a Pokéball at a KO'd Pokémon, yes. As far as experience goes, if you capture the Pokémon before the KO you don't get any levels for the battle. If the Pokémon is KO'd it's your updater's decision as to whether or not your Pokémon deserves a level for the KO.
Q: Where can I get TMs?
A: TMs are available for purchase in Coins for Prizes. Others are won during special events in Zones, but that is rare. You can also win them in the Arcade and Casino, or via trading in the Cable Club.
Q: Can you use Rare Candy on Pokemon in shops (i.e. Daycare)?
A: Yes, however you can only use Rare Candy in Daycare on a Monday when Dropping off/Picking up your Pokémon. Make sure to post in the Bank linking your post when using Rare Candy.
Q: Do you have to evolve your Pokémon? Does the updater evolve them when it is time? How does it happen?
A: Updaters won't evolve your Pokémon. If it is capable of evolving or you want it to evolve at a certain level it is your choice. They don't have to evolve at all if that is what you want. What most trainers do is they will add it to a reply of an update after that Pokémon has just finished a battle and leveled up. Or if you boost it up with Rare Candy to have it evolve.
Q: Can a Pokémon be raised past level 100?
A: They could, but there really isn't any need for it. Many members already have level 100 Pokémon but we don't go beyond it.
Q: How do you use TMs? Do you RP teaching your pokemon a move, or something else?
A: You can RP in a post or post in a shop or where you got the TM saying you are using it, but the preferable choice is to post in the Training Centre.
Q: Since any Pokemon can learn any TM, how can a Chikorita use Steel Wing, or a Caterpie learn Fire Punch or other stuff like that?
A: You don't have to teach your Pokemon strange attacks. I personally try and stick to the attacks my Pokemon can learn. However certain TMs don't exist in the newer games. For example if a Skitty can learn Water Pulse in RS/E/F/L why couldn't it learn Bubblebeam? Use your judgment, it's up to you if you want your Pokemon to be a freak. Besides, updators will just make an attack fail if you teach something unreasonable to your Pokémon which in the end is a waste of a TM.
Q. What can my Ditto Transform into?
A: Your Ditto can only transform into a Pokémon it is battling or one on your squad so long as it is active (ie, a part of the update/battle). Also in certain situations such as a double/multiple battle Ditto can transform into an ally Pokémon that is fighting along side of it. Ditto can only use attacks that the Pokémon it transformed into would know at Ditto's current level.
Q: Questions about Sketch:
1. Is their a limited amount of moves you can Sketch?
A: Yes, Smearlge learns Sketch 10 times before hitting level 100.
2. Can you relearn Sketch via Move Tutor?
A: No you cannot relearn Sketch from the Tutor.
3. Can you Sketch a teammate's move? (ie; In a double battle, in a campaign)
A: No. It has to be attacked in order to learn the move, and a teammate isn't going to attack their ally.
4. If Sketch fails in a battle, can you still use it in that battle?
A: No, it is up to the updater if the move fails. Your Sketching could interfere with the story. If it fails you won't be able to copy that move or any move in that particular battle. In other words, you can only attempt using it once per battle.
Q: If you have a Nincada and you let it evolve into Ninjask and get the extra Shedinja, does the Shedinja knows the TM/EM/MT moves taught to it as a Nincada?
A: Yes, it does.
Q: Do pokemon have natures in Fizzy Bubbles?
A: Yes, but once you've decided on a nature and posted in the PokeSpa, you MAY NOT change the nature of your Pokémon.
Q: Does an ability like Pick Up, Oblivious or Insomnia work in FB?
A: Pick Up doesn't, but Wonder Guard and Forecast work in the zones and all abilities are in effect in Gym Battles. It is up to the updator whether or not the other abilities will work in zones.
Q: Can you change the nicknames of your pokemon?
A: Yes.
Q: Can a Pokemon overdose on medicine?
A: Yes. If an updator feels that you are abusing medicine, they may have the Pokemon get sick.

Q: If I'm gone, can I ask another person to look after my account and use candies on Pokemon or adopt Pokemon?

A: Any Pokémon dropped into the Adoption Centre will lose any moves learned via Egg, MT, TM or HM training. They will also revert to level 1. I would suggest not using a Pokémon you wish to keep as the answer to a shard riddle.
Q: Can someone else babysit your starter Pokémon?
A: Yes, babysitting is allowed but trading is not.

A: When your team is full you cannot pick up an egg.
You can do 1 of 4 things:
1) Abandon one of your Pokemon in the Adoption Centre.
2) Abandon one of your Pokemon in a Trade.
3) Give one of your Pokemon away.
4) Start leveling up your Pokemon so you can get a PC.
Q: Which eggs can <Pokemon> hatch from?
A: Any type that their evolved form has (plus their own, if they are different), with two exceptions: Gastly cannot be hatched from a Poison egg, and Dratini cannot be hatched from a Flying egg.
Q: Do you need to remove a Pokeball from your inventory for a hatched Pokemon?
A: Yes.
Q: Can Castform hatch from a Fire, Ice, or Water egg?
A: No, only Pound and Enigma.
Q: Can you hatch a Wobbuffet, or just a Wynaut?

A: Yes.
Q: If your starter evolves by trading...How do you evolve it? The Cable Club rules say that you can´t trade your starter.
A: It's traded straight back to you so it's a special exception to the rules. You find a person who is willing to trade with you. For example, me. You post saying, "Trading my Scyther w/attached Metal Coat to Enchantress for her Houndoom" I'll then post saying, "Trading Houndoom to Dark Scizor for his Scyther w/attached Metal Coat *Scyther evolves into Scizor* I'm now trading Scizor straight back to Dark Scizor for my Houndoom" Then you post saying, "Returning Houndoom and receiving Scizor *trade closed*"
Q: If you are banned from the Cable Club, are you banned in all of them or just the one you broke the rule in?
A: Simple: Don't get banned. But you are banned in all of them if you do get banned.
Q: If you have a Pokemon in babysitting and want to trade it, do you need to make space in your party?
A: Yes, you must pick up the Pokemon from the other person before you trade it.
Q: Can an updator trade with an updatee?
A: Yes.
Q: In the Cable Club, do you have to post a link to where you received the berry or where it originated?
A: Where you received it.

A: Because in most cases Dig is a level up move whereas Surf and Fly are not.

A: The Pokedex used at that time was not very correct, the Serebii.net one is currently the official Pokedex of FB.
Q: Can you have a Pokemon that doesn't learn a move in the games through the Training Center (like Charmander with Dive?)
