All right, as per request, here you can apply to have your fics betaed or to be a beta yourself! Fairly straightforward, and I do believe my part here is done...

Heh, thanks Blackjack ^^.
Anywho, I'm looking for a Beta who likes Harry Potter and Dragonball Z in addition to Pokemon, because those are the three fandoms I write for the most. HP in particular...I've got something rather secret brewing (I'm planning it to be around 24 chapters, and I'm on 13 now, though I'm rewriting the first few because they were - in a word - horrid), and I'm getting protective of it (yeah, probably not a good sign o_O), so I'd like to be sending the first few chapters - once they are rewritten - to someone in the hope that they can point out any possible errors so that I don't need to have my baby torn apart and written off as idiotic by someone like Fama when it's posted.
If that made any sense whatsoever...
I'd also prefer someone with an open mind to the fact that 'Original Characters do not equal Mary-Sues and/or Marty-Stues'
Thank you for your time. *Bows*

I'll gladly be a beta for Pokémon fanfiction of any sort (so long as it's rated R or below). I have tons of fanfiction experience, and I'm a stickler when it comes to grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. I can also offer any advice wanted on characterization, plot, writing techniques, and other things like that. Feel free to PM your fanfiction to me or e-mail me at phoenixfreedom@yahoo.com . I prefer Microsoft Word format, but I can work with other formats. The only problem is that I'm computer-less every other week, so if you need your fanfic beta-read really quickly, I'd specify that so I can make arrangements to get it done by whatever deadlines there may be.
I doubt any of these will come up among you guys, but other fandoms I would gladly beta-read for are: Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Witch Hunter Robin, Last Exile, FLCL, and pretty much any Miyazaki movie. Those are fandoms I am very familiar with and comfortable with the atmosphere, plots, characters, and just the shows in general.

I know that Beta-readers read the fic and tells you what you can fix before you post it or something like that but what does a Beta-writer do?

A beta writer is just a writer who then hands their work over to a beta reader to examine before posting it. Sort of like how an author will hire a proofreader or the like.

Well it's high time I made my return to the Bulbagarden world. I've been gone too long and i'm gonna have a lot of time over the summer. I'll gladly take a writer under my wing and help them out. I'm not the most well known person around here by far but I will do the very best I can for those I help out. My fandom knowledge is primarily pokemon, DBZ and Harry Potter. If you have another fandom you're welcome to contact me through private messaging as well and give me details. I'll see if I'll be of any use to you.
I've got a pretty good grasp of the english language (seeing as how I'm working my rear end off to become a published author).
Let me know if you need help!

I'll beta original fiction and poetry, and monologues and essays and anything along those lines.

I'd be happy to beta read Pokemon fics, preferably those of the trainer variety or focus on Pokemon themselves (like stories about Pokemon living in the wild or their pov or just focusing strongly on them).
In turn, I'd like one of my fics to be beta-read. It's been posted on several forums before, but, even though I like my own style or writing, I always have people complaining about it and they always find typos that I tend to overlook. I'll probably end up posting it here soon anyway.

Seriously, how long has this topic been inactive???
Anyway, if this thing has any relevance at all, I am always up for lending a hand. Ok, I'm not the greatest writer on earth... I'm doing english in college if that makes me sounds any better ^^;; heh. Um, but I like reading, I'm good at finding typos (I find mine all the time... ahem, after I've posted them) and also hopefully I'd benefit from it, what with being exposed to different writing styles and such.
But yeah, if people are still lookin for someone to beta then lemme know!!!
*NB: the typos in my message have nothin to do with my english ability, I'm just a lazy typist occasinally

I'd gladly appreciate someone to beta read my Original Trainer Pokemon fic. If anyone wants to, I'll PM it to you on Bulbagarden. Someone who realises that not all Trainer fics are utter rubbish would be best. My fic's rated PG/PG-13. PM me if you'd do it. ((There'll be loads of chapters, by the way... Just to let you know...))

I would like a beta reader, if I could have one. ^.^
Be warned, I am slightly lazy... XD I take a long time to update my fics. Whic, I suppose, is good for you. Less work. XD I need someone to tell me when I am going overboard on feelings, where there is to much filler, and if my story is just plain boring. XD I worry about that alot...
Sorry Dark, I would help you, but I am up to my eyeballs in work. @.@

Well hello there, i m new here and i was kinda relieved to see a thread like this. i just found out the world of shipping. and liked it so much that i wanted to write my own.
I am not living in an English speaking country. i am a 16 year old Dutch guy, who likes writing. writing in english specifically.
I wrote a few fanfics about some videogames. rewriting their storyline. I havent put much romance in those stories since most violent videogames have none either.
Either way. i am now busy with my first shipping story. its an AAMayL. or its supposed to be like that.
I m still trying to improve my english and my grammar specifically. cus i often catch myself on using the wrong verb form or time in a story. And i realize that can be killing if it happens in a love scene.
Another one of my common mistakes is using the word 'as' (not ash) too fast and too many times when i dont know which word to use.
i have just finished chapter 1 of my Advanceshipping story. its 8 pages long, but it doesnt have much shipping in it. more of an Introduction to the whole story.
I just want some people to review the story and tell me what i did wrong. and please count every grammar mistake i made. i want to improve myself on that more than anything else.
Any volunteers for reading it? I need a permanent beta-reader anyway i think.

Well, I'm new to Bulbagarden too, but I'm not new to the world of fanfiction.
Your story sounds interesting, and I can be your beta, but I'm afraid of the responsibility involved. In just a few months, I'll be taking my last national examination, then I'll be serving the army for two years at least, so you won't hear from me much during that period. As such, I don't want to commit myself to this until I know I have the time to be a good beta.
Hmm... are you going to post your stories here, or will you post them somewhere else? I'm on fanfiction.net most of the time; I can leave you a review if you happen to post in either places. Alternatively, you can send me an email (marco2050@hotmail.com, but please identify yourself as Mythicall from Bulbagarden, or I won't be able to rescue your email from my Junk Filter).
Prior Warning: I can only promise to help up to August, then I'll check back once in a while (but no promises). If you think that my commitment level is not what you're looking for, then I think you should wait for a better beta...

Well, I sort of need a beta reader. Its for a fic I have at a couple other baords and its currently to Chapter 11. However, its pretty crappy, and I plan on putting out a revised addition. Also, the fic will probably premier here and a couple other forums when I revise all the current chapters. I would like it if someone were to help me.
I tend to be strong in desription but stink at characters and flow. I'd really appreciate and probably would read your fics in return gladly.

I would enjoy being a beta for pokemon and original fics. However, since I can only write my own crap once a week (yes, I know it's been more than a week since my stuff's been updated, but I was on vacation), keep that in mind. PM or email me. I can read Word, Works, html, .txt, ... I think that's it. However, let me make it clear that I will not beta until Reflections is done (5 more essays to go). And I want to finish Cries for the Dead. And if you're going to stick me with a trainer fic, it better be original and more in-depth than the games.

I need a beta for my Pokemon fic. It's hard for me to work alone, and I need an understanding beta reader. Get easy one me, I'm also not a (very) good fic writer. OK?

Dudes, I need a beta reader dude-(wo)man who (preferably) likes reading Pokemon fanfics (especially ones that have to do with Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, because that's what I'm currently writing) and gryphon fantasies. Maybe some more things, but I'm not really writing anything else at the moment. Please, please, please! Help me!

Can I have a beta reader? I've already posted 3 chapters. PM me if you want to do it. Btw, its contestshipping. I also need help with adding more gap fillers in my fic. I've been moaned at for chapter shortness.

Huh. A two-year old thread. This'll probably never get a reply, but it's worth a shot.
I need a Metroid gamer to look at a one-shot I'm preparing for FF.net. I'd like someone capable of handling mature themes (although not in a sexual sense) and someone who's not afraid to tell me what's wrong with the fic.
In return, I'm offering my services as a beta-reader. I'll accept any original work as well as a variety of fandoms. PM me, and I'll give you an e-mail address to send the work to.

Yeah, I'll be a beta for anyone who wants a beta :)
I'll read Pokemon, of course, Harry Potter, Original, etc.
Rating doesn't really matter for me. I'll read anything.
If your a new writer who's just starting out or a more experienced writer who wants a proofreader, I'm your man.
So just PM me if you want me to be your beta, okies?

Actually, everyone, I'm going to start a new thread. This one's horribly outdated and full of people who haven't been to the site in quite some time.
