While Kyosuke's group heads upstairs, the rest of you are herded by the officer into one of the ground floor briefing rooms. Like most of the others, the center of the room is taken up by a large circular table, with eight chairs scattered haphazardly around it. Seats also line the walls at irregular intervals, occupied by several other officers, who look up at your group as you walk in, then return to what they were doing before, whether it be small talk, cleaning a weapon, or just staring absently at the floor. Another map of the city is displayed on the far wall, the "secure zone" outlined in the familiar red grease pencil, with several other markings here and there, obviously the subjects of previous missions.

The officer who accompanied you to the room strides up to the map and turns to face your group. The police officers along the walls stop what they are doing and look up at him, ready for what he has to say. Clearing his throat, the man begins.

"Well, I know for some of you, this isn't the first time we've met..." he glances at Kim, then over to Mamoru and Miho, "though I'd better introduce myself while we have the chance. I am Major Corbin Desoto, and I guess you could call me the second-in-command here." he grins almost sheepishly before continuing. "Expect to see a lot of me, Jenny can't be everywhere at once. But, let's get down to buisiness, shall we?"

Picking up a pencil, Desoto draws a circle around a fairly large building, a few blocks inside the peremiter of the safe zone. "This is our 'target'. A large hotel, intact for the most part, about half a mile away from where our holdings end. We've been giving shelter to civilians here, mostly the elderly or sick, who have had trouble just getting to safety, let alone anywhere near the Headquarters or the Pokemon Center. So, don't expect them to help you if there's a scuffle."

"The reason you're patrolling here is that a group of Pokemon, mostly small Fighting and Ground-types, have been launching hit-and-run attacks along our boundary outposts. Last night, shortly after the rain let up, they attacked an under-manned post with a lot more force then they'd used before, and broke through. Smart little devils." he pauses to sigh and run a hand through his shaggy brown hair. "Anyways, we've been amping up security wherever we can. Don't want to get caught off guard again.

"So, your job is to protect this hotel from any invading Pokemon. You might get attacked by a few, a lot, or see none at all. I'd prefer the last one, though we most likely won't be so lucky. You just need to hold them off until this evening, when our preperations are complete to evacuate the survivors farther into our reach."

Sighing again, Desoto grabs one of the unoccupied chairs from the table and sits down. "What we've been doing is running 25-75 shifts. 25% of our forces are concentrated on the roof and upper levels of the hotel, ready to go up against Flying-types, or to try and take out any from distance. The other 75% are on the ground, ready for Pokemon who will try to attack from the ground. Also, since we are using most of our transportation resources to bus the survivors out, you'll be walking there, and coming back on the trucks."

"Now, I know that's a lot of stuff for you to process in just about half an hour, so are there any questions?"

Ferris Smith
07-04-2008, 08:11 PM
"I guess it's a good thing I got my wrecker working again. It's parked out front." Ferris spoke up. "I can fit Miho and one another in the cab and the other four can ride in the back. It's not pretty but it beats walking a half mile."

Myra Claythorne
07-04-2008, 08:34 PM
"I'll ride in the back, I don't mind, some wind would fell good" Myra said, "Beside, our stronger, more important members should ride in the cab for at least a little protection."

"And if there's not enough room I could aways run, its only a half a mile so i could make it in about 5 minutes." Myra continued, "But is there any supplies we should worry about, like Potions or Pokéballs?"

Kai Turner
07-05-2008, 10:25 AM
"I'd be happy to ride in the back as well" said Kai, "Quick question, though; are we following the 25-75 shift as well, or do you want us to stay together?"

Fangs
07-05-2008, 10:43 AM
"I'd be fine sitting in the back aswell." Fangs voices his opinion, not honestly caring about the seating arrangements.

Myra Claythorne
07-05-2008, 01:08 PM
"I don't now about the rest of you, but I'm ready to go. The sooner we get there the sooner they can leave." Myra looked around at the group as a whole, "So, are you all set to go?"

I think I just may have a shot of redeeming my self, they haven't said much so that seem to have forgotten about my earlier incident.

Kim
07-05-2008, 07:02 PM
"Front, back, it beats walking. Major, what have been the known Pokemon so far, you've mentioned Fighting and Ground, but can you give us specific names? Like, Cubone, Machop, etc?"

Mamoru
07-05-2008, 09:52 PM
"I'll join you up in the cab Ferris. I've driven before, and should the worst happen, you'll need someone there who knows the streets, or who can act as shotgun. I want to keep a good eye on Miho as well, with how she's been feeling this past week."

Evolutions
07-10-2008, 11:58 PM
Desoto smiled as Ferris suggested using his wrecker as transport. "I was hoping you and the officers we have here could travel together...safety in numbers, you know. However, I cannot deny that it would be best for you all to get there as soon as possible. I suppose the rest of the men could catch up to you later."

"For supplies," he turned to Myra. "There shouldn't be too much to worry over. Our main goal is to drive the Pokemon away from the hotel. I suggest if you intend on capturing any, to use your own provisions."

"Yes, I would like you to follow the 25-75 shift. Perhaps send two of you to the top and keep the others down below. It would be best if those of you who would be on the roof have Flying Pokemon, but I'll leave the seperation up to you." the man said, answering Kai's question.

And finally, Desoto addressed Kim. "What we've got so far is a fair number of Sandshrew and their evos, some Machops, and even a couple Phanpy, though how they got here I know not. There may be a couple others, always expect the worst."

"Now, are there any other questions, or can we get underway?"

Myra Claythorne
07-14-2008, 10:12 AM
Myra jumped in the back of the wrecker and placed her back pack next to her.

"So, I'm sure some of you have been on missions before, what are they like? I heard that the Pokemon you face are the most savage of any kind. That they'll even attack people, is that true?"

Myra shuddered at the thought of a Pokemon attacking her.

Ferris Smith
07-15-2008, 07:28 PM
The once proud Smith Towing & Scrapping lead wrecker was almost recognizable. The paint job was almost completely stripped off. The doors and hood were gone and the windshield and back window were broken out. It looked like hell but it ran and the winch worked which was all that mattered.

Ferris sat down in the driver seat as the others piled on. He heard the question of the new comer.

"You're kidding right?" He asked through the window. "They did this to an almost showroom condition truck. They won't just attack you, they'll kill you if you give them the chance."

He turned the ignition and after some protesting the engine turned over.

Myra Claythorne
07-16-2008, 09:08 AM
Myra looked back at Ferris threw the window, she was locked in a state of shock.

"Kill me? You must be joking, you must be!" She stared at Ferris longer, "Your not joking are you? They really will kill me..."

Deep breathes, clam down...You can do this, they've done it so why not you, just relax Myra, you can do this she thought

"So they did this damage? Myra looked at the wrecker and pulled her back back under her legs to sit on. "I have some catching up to do, don't I?"

Myra Claythorne
08-04-2008, 08:24 PM
Myra was sitting still, playing with her thumbs. She was practically dead of boredom.

"UGH! What is taking them so long... I swear my grandma's Slowking is faster than they are and it's like a bazillion years old!"

Kai Turner
08-05-2008, 02:24 PM
Kai raised an eyebrow at Myra's comment as she hopped into the back of the wrecker, settling down across from the other girl.

"We'll get underway eventually. Better to take awhile to make sure everything's in place than rush into things haphazardly."

Myra Claythorne
08-06-2008, 12:53 PM
Myra looked back at Kai, "Sorry... Coordinators curse, we are very ill patient. I am so good at first impression, aren't I? From tripping, being clueless, and careless I think I might have set a new record."

"So Kai, do you have any Pokemon that can fend off ground and fighting types? You seem like a well traveled trainer."

Kai Turner
08-07-2008, 02:10 PM
Kai smiled. "Well traveled, yes. Well equipped... I wish. My Pokemons' levels aren't as high as they should be; I've mostly been hunting and exploring, not battling." She gave a little laugh, ruefully shaking her head. "My sister wouldn't be too happy that I've been slacking on my training, that's for sure."

"I am at a type advantage on this mission, though. I've got Water, Electric, and Flying type pokemon with me." Giving her pokeballs a little pat, she asked, "So, are you from around here?"

Myra Claythorne
08-10-2008, 02:51 PM
"Sorta... I mean i was born in Celadon City but I moved to Sinnoh when I was like four. I came back to try contest in Kanto. Right now I'm staying at the Celadon Mansion, my grandparents own it and all so it nice if you ignore the crazy Pokemon who wan to kill you."

Myra took a breath and continued on, "One more thing, don't doubt your Pokemon like that. I'm sure they're stronger than mine. My Torchic is only level 15 while my Snorunt is level 13. I been talking to long, here take this for being so nice to me."

Myra pulled a handful of Mild Poffins out of her bag. "Your Pokemon should love this, there a good mix of all flavours. But enough about me, tell me more about your Pokemon."

Kai Turner
08-10-2008, 07:13 PM
"Ah, thanks," said Kai, fumbling a little with the Poffins before tucking them into her bag, "They're all level 15, though Pikachu doesn't like to admit it."

She grinned wickedly as one of her pokeballs began to wiggle angrily. "Case in point. I'm gonna get zapped for that later. Anyway, my other two are Doduo and Mudkip." She paused to clamp a hand over Pikachu's pokeball, effectively stopping its motion, before continuing.

"We're not exactly what you'd call "friends." It's more like... well, we work together toward a certain goal. Partners, I guess." Giving a little nod of satisfaction with her definition, she asked, "So, you said you grew up in Sinnoh. Did you do Contests there, or is this your first season?"

Ferris Smith
08-10-2008, 07:51 PM
Ferris tapped his hand impatiently on the steering wheel. He turned off the engine because he didn't want to waste precious fuel sitting at the curb. Kai and Myra were sitting in the back seat but that Fangs, Kim, Mamoru, and Miho were no where to be seen. They could go anywhere until everyone was on board.

"What's keeping them?" he growled during his breath.

Myra Claythorne
08-10-2008, 09:07 PM
Myra looked at Ferris, "At least I'm not the only one. But it's best to give them their time, I guess. If there not out here in 10 I'm going inside to look."

Myra redirected her attention to Kai, "You have a Pikachu? They are so cute, I've tried to catch one before but it got away. Yours seem so be and energetic one too."

Myra pointed to the white Pokeball, "Anyway, this would be my first cycle. I've done a few contest, maybe seven overall. And that's like over a 3 year span. I won one Ribbon from my last contest.Apollo was amazing and worked really hard." Myra open here bag and showed a lavender coloured ribbon.

"I was so hyped when I came here, I wanted to go to the big market and by stuff but it was overtaken. I heard it's slowly coming under control thanks to people like you. So, what were you doing before the city was taken over?"

Kai Turner
08-10-2008, 09:36 PM
"He's not so much energetic as cantankerous" Kai answered, "But anyway, I haven't been here long enough to do anything yet. Haven't even been in Kanto that long. I've been hunting all over the world for this relic called the Old Sea Chart. Rumor has it, it leads to an island at the edge of the world where the Starf berry grows. That's what I'm after."

She grimaced slightly before continuing, "I haven't had any luck so far, just false leads taking me to different regions and mutters of rumors. I was planning to search out from Saffron, but... obviously that didn't work out."

As the group situates themselves both inside and outside Ferris' wrecker, Desoto gives the accompanying officers a briefly extended run-down of their plans on evacuating and extracting the civilians. Once his short monologue is through, he heads for the wrecker, where the Trainers are waiting, some more impatiently than others.

"Now, I know you already know this, but I'll give you this talk anyways. Your job is to protect the hotel. Don't go looking for trouble, it'll probably come to you. No Pokémon is to be taken lightly. I don't want to hear how Sergeant Mulvaney had to scrape you off the side of a building. Hopefully you all know this by now, but it never hurts to drill." Desoto started to walk away.

"Oh, but one more thing..." he turned around. "As I said before, they're smart little devils. Don't let them catch you off guard."

With that closing statement, the Major finally turns from the wrecker and goes back inside. As the other three Trainers pile into the wrecker, the ragtag militia begins footing it to the south, clearly marking the way to the hotel.

Myra Claythorne
08-11-2008, 06:15 AM
"Hey Kai, do we let our Pokemon out now or wait until we see a Pokemon to send them out?" Myra asked as she stumbled out of the wrecker. "Cause Floe knows Light Screen so it could help some? Right?"

Myra Claythorne
08-16-2008, 02:36 PM
"Why do all of you insist on being so slow!" Myra said.

She ran over to the truck and grabbed Kai's hand topull her out.

"This would be so much more effective if I wasn't so week."

Then Myra's hand slipped and she fell on her butt... again.

"Why does this always happen to me..." Myra grunted.

Kai Turner
08-17-2008, 05:24 AM
OOC: Sorry about the long gap, classes start tomorrow and my schedule had to be sorted out

"Ummmm..." muttered Kai, startled out of her daydream by Myra's insistent pulling, "What was that? Oh, the pokemon... no, I'd keep them in until we get our posts, but keep them at ready in case we need them."

Plucking Pikachu's pokeball off her belt, she hopped out of the truck and offered Myra a hand.

Ferris Smith
08-17-2008, 12:01 PM
"Thank you God," Ferris said as the other trainers finally got into and onto his wrecker.

Gible snuggled up to Miho. Ferris gave him a dirty look for his apparent lack of taste. But it was no concern of his.

Ferris turned the key to force the engine to turn over again. After Kai had helped Myra on the back he released the brake and allowed the wrecker to roll away from the curve and follow the departing officers. After a few minutes they had reached the hotel and he parked along the curb.

"He we are," he said as he cut the engine.

Myra Claythorne
08-18-2008, 01:15 PM
"Thanks Kai... For a Coordinator I'm rather un coordinated."

"I'll keep my Pokemonput up, but later I have to let Floe out to feed her, she's still a baby so she need her food on time."

"Hey Ferris, where'd you get that Gible? They're really rare, arn't they?"

Myra bent over to pet the Gible's head.

Fangs
08-18-2008, 10:27 PM
Fangs had been beyond zoned out the entire time, knowing that his Houndour and Mawile would be at a major disadvantage to both Ground and Fighting types. "About time." He groaned as they arrived, taking a moment to crack his back from the uncomfortable ride. He stood up and jumped over the side of the wrecker to get off, the wrecker shaking a good bit as he did so. He then reached back over the side to grab his bouken, then practicing swinging it a bit to limber himself up. "Well, what are we waiting for?"

Kim
08-18-2008, 10:58 PM
OOC - Sorry, been busy lately.

BIC - Kim coughed as he lept down from the back of the vehicle, as far as he could make it out to be, before looking at the hotel.

"So, who's going to go where, anyway? I mean, it might be a good idea if I remain by the entrance, since my Pokemon might be more effective at fighting on the ground."

Myra Claythorne
08-25-2008, 03:58 PM
Myra waned to ask questions to every person, she wanted to know as much as she could. Since she new a little about Kai she moved on to Fangs since she at least knew him.

Myra walked behind Fang and tapped his shoulder, "So Fangs, what are your Pokemon like?" Myra asked Fangs.

Fangs
08-25-2008, 10:07 PM
Fangs turned to face Myra, sheathing his bouken and grabbing a Pokeball from his pocket. "Oh, thanks for reminding me." He expanded the Pokeball and let out his Mawile, who was clearly not happy about not being let out sooner. "Well, I've got Mawile here, and I also have a Totodile and a Houndour, but they aren't as stubborn as this one." This comment earned him a rather nasty look from the Mawile, who Fangs then knelt down next to and spoke to. "Relax buddy, you know I'm just messing with you."

Myra Claythorne
08-28-2008, 03:25 PM
Myra pointed at the Mawile..."EKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!" she hissed. She sprinted down toward Kai and hid behind her.

"S-s-sorry... I just have a really bad fear of Mawile... bad vacation in Hoenn... don't want to talk about it."

Myra was shaken up at he sight of one.

"Please don' be mad at my Fangs, I can't help it." She stood on her tippie toes to look over Kai's shoulder. It was looking back at her. Myra crouched down slowly, trying to escape it's gaze.

Ferris Smith
08-29-2008, 07:23 AM
"Terrific," Ferris grumbled. "Why do I always get stuck with these people?"

He started surveying the area. It was like most blocks of city. A garbage littered street ran straight as an arrow in either direction. There were some vehicles sitting in parking spaces, most damaged.

There were no signs of Pokemon as of yet. However, once evacuation started up in earnest the noise would likely bring them out. He took out his wrench tapped it gently on the pavement. It seemed solid suggesting that they weren't undermining the street yet.

He released Psyduck and Vulpix. "Be prepared for anything," he instructed them.

Myra Claythorne
08-29-2008, 02:50 PM
Myra looked at Ferris, concentrating on his eyes.

"You must think your so funny, don't you?" Myra growled.

"I may be afraid of Mawile but at least my outfit is better!"

She pulled two white Pokeballs of her waist and tossed them out.

"Floe, Apollo, get ready."

Eager as ever, Myra's Torchic and Snorunt were bouncing up and down. Myra piked her little Floe up and tickled her belly. Snorunt made a loud sneeze and sent snow flying all oer the place. A large chuck landed on Fangs' head.

Myra giggled, "Sorry bout' that."

Ferris Smith
08-29-2008, 09:31 PM
Ferris looked at his coveralls. They were gray in color and covered in grease stains. Various patches of automotive products and a name tag with his name in cursive were sown to its worn fabric. It wasn't flashy but it suited him.

He watched as Sunrunt sneezed on Fangs. He grinned and couldn't help but laugh at him.

"I might not have much fashion sense but I'm probably the most experienced trainer here," Ferris said. "At the end of the day, I think that's what really matters."

Fangs
08-29-2008, 10:13 PM
Fangs simply shrugged off the fact that he was just sneezed at, no harm no foul, really. The thing that did anger him a bit was Ferris laughing at him, but he did his best to ignore it aswell, as he now knew that one of the few people he was on good terms with would likely be avoiding him often, all because he had a Mawile that preferred to stay out of its Pokeball. After a moment, he slammed his fist into the side of the already beat up wrecker, leaving a small dent and venting a good bit of his stress.

Kai Turner
08-30-2008, 06:29 AM
Kai started at the sudden noise, glancing quickly around for its source. Seeing that it was Fangs, she shook her head, rubbing her eyes with one hand. "Geez," she muttered, "I'm getting a little jumpy..."

Releasing Mudkip and Pikachu (who gave her a murderous glare before turning to study his surroundings) she commanded, "Mudkip, do a quick scan with your fin, please. Pikachu, be ready."

Myra Claythorne
08-30-2008, 03:32 PM
Myra looked at what Kai's Mudkip was doing. "Wow, I didn't know they could do that and be cute" Myra said.

"We can help too, can't we Floe?" Myra cooned to her Snorunt.

"Snow-so!" Snorunt chimed.

"Okay, Light Screen then!" Snorunt began to glow a blue, releasing a blue "shield" around the hotel.

"See, I know what I'm doing. I'm just more defense oriented." Myra said to Ferris, "You know, if you want, I could help you with your get-up. I have this great cream for those bags under your eye too. But sleep could help their too. Oh! And the blush would look wonderful on you." Myra began to walk toward Ferris, slowly. Like he was her prey.

"Don't worry... It will only hurt a lot."

Ferris Smith
08-30-2008, 05:29 PM
Vulpix put her nose to the pavement and began taking in the smells and sounds of the area. Psyduck did the same with his mental powers, determining the psychic landscape. Gible hopped on Ferris' shoulder as Myra approached.

Ferris raised an intrigued eyebrow as she came to him. "I work on vehicles and kick Pokemon ass," he replied. "It's not much to look at but it does its job. If I ever take up contests I'll call you first."

He then surveyed her shield. "I also hate to break it to you but you're mistaken to think this will help. Fighting, Ground, and Flying types depend almost exclusively on physical attacks which aren't affected by Light Screen. We need Reflect and Barrier to keep them at bay."

Fangs
08-30-2008, 10:09 PM
Fangs held back a laugh as Myra threatened to make Ferris fashionable. Instead, he turned to watch Ferris' Vulpix as it sniffed the ground for scents, and, after some thinking, he let out his Houndour. Kneeling down next to the Pokemon and pointing at Vulpix he spoke. "Okay boy, try smelling the ground for scents and listening like that Vulpix is." Houndour simply nodded, put his nose to the ground, and went to work.

Myra Claythorne
09-01-2008, 07:37 PM
Myra glared at Ferris, thinking it she starred hard enough he'd burst into flames.

"Just for that you're getting your eyebrows waxed..." Myra said, "And her is a hint... Air Cutter, Air Slash, Aura Sphere, Earth Power, Ancient power, and Mud Shot, Bomb, and slap. Yeah, my mom made me study all aspects of Pokemon. Besides, it never hurts to help. You never know worker-boy."

Myra continues to look at Ferris, "I bet you'd look quite good with a simple make over. And A mani-pedi wouldn't kill ether."

Myra now focused on the Pokemon, she saw that the other Fire-type Pokemon were busy sniffing.

"Hey don't they have Flash Fire? So If Apollo used Ember on them they'd get stronger right?" Mriya let lose a little congrats in her mind; she could help too.

Ferris Smith
09-01-2008, 08:14 PM
Ferris looked at Myra, not letting on that he was enjoying getting under the newcomer's skin. He stood his wrench on the ground and leaned on it. He was calm as he responded.

"1. The eyebrows stay as do the Sandslash claws."
"2. The attacks you just rattled off are rare among the pokemon we are expecting and even then by nature they prefer to use their superior physical strength."
"3. Now is the best time to hammer out any problems in our strategy instead of when they stroll through your Light Screen."
"4. You need to be more accepting of constructive criticism."
"And 5," he pulled his coveralls straight, "girls love a working man in coveralls."

He contorted his smile to make it forced at her.

Myra Claythorne
09-02-2008, 05:09 AM
"I give up... I'll just have to wait until your sleeping." Myra smirked, "I was just trying to saying if the ladies like you now imagine a polished version."

"And then you go and don't say anything about my plan with Apollo. I could activate Flash Fire right now, for both you and the Houndour."

When he smiled and her as he wanted to slap him, he is just so... so... so... UGH!

Evolutions
09-03-2008, 10:37 PM
After reaching the hotel, the group clambers out of the wrecker, and the quieter Trainers survey their surroundings. The hotel is on the Northeast corner of the intersection. Ferris had pulled up along the hotel's west side. Across the street, a muddy and vacant lot sits on the corner. On every other side, the hotel is surrounded by either tall buildings or small businesses. The southern road is blocked off by a large tractor-trailer.

Several militiamen patrol the outside of the the hotel. Wearily, they turn to face the group as you arrive, pure relief lighting up on their faces. One man, a Corporal, slowly walks up to you.

"Came before the rest of the crew, huh?" he asked, referring to the officers left behind. "That's good. We need all the help we can get, and as quick as we can get it. Let me give you a quick brief."

"We'll be splitting you up into 25-75 shifts, which the Major has no doubt told you. We're expecting any Pokémon to come from the south, but they can attack from anywhere." Noticing the Light Screen, the Corporal whistles through his teeth, of which as few are missing. Obviously, he hadn't been lucky on day one. "I never knew such a tiny Pokémon to hold a shield such as that for very long." And indeed, Snorunt was showing signs of fatigue. "Better call that off until something starts."

"Anyhoo, who volunteers to be up on the roof? Preferably someone with a Flying or Grass type Pokémon, that can attack from long distances."

Myra Claythorne
09-04-2008, 05:03 AM
"Floe!" Myra hissed! and scooped up her baby. "Why didn't you tell me you're getting tired? You know I'd never have you do to much work if you couldn't"

"Here take a little rest but I might need you soon, okay hun?" She clicked the Pokeball to her and had her wrap inside.

"I could take the 25 shift since I have a Fire and Ice-type. Floe's Ice Beam is really good."

Kai Turner
09-04-2008, 05:44 AM
"I've got an Electric-Type, so I might be good for the rooftop as well" answered Kai, beckoning Pikachu over, "I have a Flying-type, too, but he can't fly, so..."

Fangs
09-04-2008, 05:05 PM
"I'll take the rooftop shift, I'll be at a major disadvantage on the ground, and I have a Fire type and a Water type, so I can still attack from afar." Fangs spoke up quickly.

Myra Claythorne
09-05-2008, 05:02 PM
"Hey Fangs," Myra tapped him on the shoulder, not looking down at the Mawile, "Does your Vulpix have Flash Fire? Apollo would be happy to activate it."

Myra Claythorne
09-09-2008, 02:17 PM
"Fangs?" Myra said in a more angered tone, she was tired of being ignored, "Fangs!" she grabbed his shoulder and tried to shake it, he was pretty muscular.

Nice Myra thought.

Fangs
09-09-2008, 02:24 PM
Fangs had only ignored her so he wouldn't have to correct her mistake, but it would seem his hand had been forced. "Umm... actually, the Vulpix is Ferris', and the Houndour is mine... but that's okay anyway, he should be fine."

Myra Claythorne
09-09-2008, 03:12 PM
"Why do I do this all the time..." Myra moaned quietly, she felt very small now, "Well doesn't Houdour have the same ability?"

Apollo looked up at Myra, it's head tilted a a slight angle, eyes dead on her, as if to say, Dude, you did it again!

Kai Turner
09-10-2008, 05:37 AM
Kai put on an amused half-smile, watching the exchange between Fangs and Myra.

"I can do ground shift if you two want the roof. Mudkip and Doduo have the advantage against Ground and Fighting types."

Myra Claythorne
09-13-2008, 09:31 AM
"You too Kai...." Myra sighed.... "I am about to give up on this whole "trying thing""

She bent over and picked up Apollo, "You still want me?"

Apollo gave a high chirp, "Thanks Apollo."

Kai shrugged. "I didn't mean any offense. I just thought that since you guys are better suited to long-range combat, you might want the roof shift." Gesturing to her Pokemon, she added, "Since we're going 25-75, we can really only send two people up there, and we've got an advantage against Ground and Fighting-types, so we'd probably be more useful down here anyway."

"So what, what was that smirk for then? I thought it was because I was clueless." Myra felt con- more confued now.

"I miss Sinnoh..."

"Honestly it was... it was the look on your face when you grabbed Fangs by the shoulder" Kai admitted, looking a bit sheepish.

Fangs
09-13-2008, 06:37 PM
Fangs had no honest clue what was going on, but it really didn't take long for him to stop caring, and he found himself staring into the distance, not really focusing on anything in particular. Meanwhile, his Mawile was busy resisting the urge to chew on anything that wasn't moving.

Myra looked at Fangs puzzled look, "Just girl things, nothing you'd want to know about." Myra said, she put her hands to her face, she could feels the heat on her face here she was blushing.

She pulled Kai aside, away from the boys and whispered into her ear, "Is it really that obvious? I sorta felt that way hen I first saw him..."

Kai set her mouth in a tight line, then whispered back, "Just for a second. I've seen that look before plenty of times, though, and my first reaction was a sort of 'Oh, I know what she's thinking' thing." She knitted her eyebrows and muttered, "Sorry if I embarrassed you, or anything like that, I probably should have thought a little harder before I just let my mouth off like that."

"No, no... it's just that...." Myra fell quite, not knowing what to say, "Ca you ask him what he thinks of me, please?" Myra begged.

Kai nodded almost imperceptibly. "Of course. As soon as I get the chance, I'll ask him."

Myra wrapped her arms around Kai and squeezed her hardest, which wasn't much at all.

"Thank you, thank you , thank you, thank you, thank you!" Myra went on, "I so oh you big, how about when this is over I give you a make over! I'm not saying that you need one because you are very pretty, but anything that glitters can shine."

"I think I have this eye shadow that you would just love and I've been wanting to practice my waxing skills, oh! I have these uber cute heels but they're too big for my tiny feet. They look like they'd fit you."

Kai smiled. "I might just take you up on that. I probably look pretty worn out. But I guess we should focus on surviving today before we worry about this stuff."

"Fine, but now those boys better listen. Their Vulpix and Houndour both have Flash Fire so Apollo can boost their power but they wont listen at it is annoying me so much." Myra said, twirling her hair. "fangs is just lucky he's cute but that Ferris I want to deliver a swift kick to the family jewels, he is such an ass."

"He may not be the... ah... friendliest person I've ever met, but he's very experienced as a trainer, and I respect him for that." Kai scratched her head, glancing at the hotel and the officers assembled in front of it. "Things are going pretty slow today, huh?"

Fangs
09-14-2008, 05:43 AM
Fangs didn't know what was going on, but he was going to find out. Slowly taking a few steps back from the girls, he snaps to get his Houndour's attention, then calling him over. He crouches down to eye level and wispers. "What are they saying?" A few barks and three simple handsigns from Mawile to translate later and Fangs knew exactly what they were talking about. Not really sure of what to do, he stands back up and walks over to Myra, placing a hand on her shoulder and giving her a small grin.

Myra felt a hand claps over her shoulder, she knew who it was at once. She lifted her hand and placed it on his, it was little rough but she liked it. She followed up his strong arm as far as she could reach and then she turned around. He had one of the best smiles.

"How much did you hear?" Myra wish she wore heels today, she couldn't even reach his face to do what she waned to do.

Kai put on her half-smile again, and drifted tactfully back toward the wrecker. She certainly wasn't about to interfere, and it seemed best to her just to get out of earshot for now.

Myra clicked her pokeball to recall Apollo, a red beam shot down and converted him to energy. Fangs was about to speak but Myra hushed him. She stood on the tips of her toes, getting closer to Fangs but still not quite there.

She wrapped her thin, pale, slender arms around Fangs and pulled him close; It was more that she lead him down to her. Their faces were just inches away from each other, his breath smelled like something sweet, she couldn't but her tongue on it.

She leaned in just little bit more and it felt like electricity when their lips meet.

"Ahem," the militiaman coughed. "If you all are done with your squabbles, I think we could get going. Why don't you two ..." he nodded at Kai and Kim, "head up to the roof with me. The rest of you stay down here and keep a sharp eye open. Position yourselves fairly spread out around the perimeter of the building. I'll be back in a few." With that, the man started toward the doors of the hotel.

Far off down the road, the officers sent to accompany you are starting to appear, marching (if you could call it that), down the road in a misshapen blob that seemed to have been a 5-across block when it left the station. Apparently, nobody wanted to be too far from each other.

Myra pushed fangs away when she heard the sound. She looked up at him and felt happy, knowing that maybe she had someone in Kanto to care for her. She grabbed his hand and ran out toward where the rest were.

She looked for Kai but she was nowhere to be found. She later found out she had headed upstairs.

"I thought me and Fangs were going to cover he roof... But they must know best." Myra said, upset that she lose alone time with Fangs.

"Okay, come back out. Apollo, Floe." Myra said, tossing tw\he two Pokeballs out.

Apollo looked at Myra, clearly upset that it had been recalled.

"Oh just shut it Apollo, I swear i don't even get that mad when I PMS!" Myra picked him up then looked him in the eye, "Now come on, you know I love you."

As Kim and Kai emerged onto the rooftop, the rest of the group that was left behind fans out and takes up positions around the perimeter of the building. As the day wears on towards evening, the hotel's grounds become tenser as the environment becomes quiet and devoid of much movement.

Most of the militiamen have resorted to menial tasks, such as cleaning and repairing their weapons, or investigating some of the nearby buildings for supplies and traces of Pokémon. Not that the buildings hadn't already been combed over several times. Around the back side of the hotel, a few men have pulled out a package of weather-beaten playing cards and have silently began playing a small game of poker. Whilst seen as a diversion, the men are concentrating more on the surroundings than their game.

It's about four in the afternoon when the Corporal and a few of his privates start passing around small paper bags filled with meager rations, a random lunchmeat sandwich, a couple Nanab berries, a carton of milk, and a package of dry Pokéfood meant for Normal-type Pokémon for each Trainer. As the ragtag guard begins to eat, you can't help but wonder if the overall morale could get any worse.

Kai bit her lip as she glanced around the rooftop at the officers on duty. She had been cutting and weaving together a spare bunch of rope all day, mainly to ease the tension clouding her brain, and had managed to create a passable net shortly before the rations were passed out. Now, she was tying whatever heavy scraps she could find to the bottoms, weighting and finishing the makeshift device.

"This is...tough..." she murmured to Pikachu, who lay curled against her right hip. The electric rat opened one eye as she continued. "It's almost like you could cut the air with a knife. We're all jumping at shadows and waiting for some disaster to end it all. I wish..." she paused and chewed on her lip before going on, "I wish there was something we could do, but... I don't know what that would be..."
