And now the questions are - How far will he take the joke? How far will the american public let him take the joke? :-D

I'd vote for him. Seriously.

Should be interesting to see how far he takes this. And, he said on Larry King Live just last week that if he ran, he'd run in both the Democrat AND Republican primaries. Would be interesting to see him do just that.

The Democrats said they might refuse him if he tries to run in both.

And Misty - if I were an American, so would I. He beats the current frontrunners (Weathervane Clinton and Pinochet* Giuliani) by very, very, very far :-D

*(And I'm being nice. Some of his comments come pretty damn close to warranting Benito Giuliani)

I'd vote for him to if I was old enough and American. I'd really like to see what would happen if he does (more like allowed to) win.

I assume that's because they're Democrats, and they take their politics seriously. Or Pelosi still hates him.

And now the questions are - How far will he take the joke?Well, he's running in only South Carolina, so he's not aiming to win. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how many votes he gets.

His main demographics lie with the young collegiates who actually care about his show. Statistically, that's the very demographic that performs most poorly at the polls.
So my point is that we can say we'll vote and yeah even if Colbert is only doing this in South Carolina, we can certainly include him as a write in, but reality says he's not going to get very far. mostly elderly folks.]

I doubt he's going for any cohesion and as usual, doing this as an active parody of our political system much like his previous stunts. Really, the way the candidates are flying back and forth are reminiscent of how California handled it's governor recall election and is what I think Colbert is taking a stab at; the ease of entry.

Though, I like the way he's going about it as I can can just look at this as a very interesting experiment.
